look out for scam!!

yesterday i clicked a link after the post on curing kia oil burning issues supposed to link to a factory fix, computer went "nuts" locked page + displayed a fake microsoft warning + 866-558-8715 to call, looked legit BUT after a long conversation what looked authentic was a SCAM!!

i recently opened a G Mail acct when Yahoo locked me out when computer-me forgot passwords!! a real hassle but learning + seems less spam but slower to load!

similarly on may 14 2025 i got a notice of a big update, mostly ok BUT lost the beloved pic of my girlfriend + our bischon when they were younger, tried removing removing but still a black page at startup!! i know i can put another pick there but miss her smiling face with our new PUP!!! my dell inspiron 16 is about 2 yrs + on windows 11

similar for me especially on amazon after being locked OUT, i am a long tine user-buyer in their site, its annoying at the least!! not too computer savy but i will look into cooikies etc. on that note i lost the beloved pic of girlfriend + our now older bischon i had when starting up after a large microsoft update!!

That link is legit as far as I can tell.
That link is a 2022 document. I was also able to find a very similar link from 2021.
Both hosted directly from the official NHSTA site.

i use chrome + read that post before, but it noted to click the official kia fix, all better now but concerned for sure i hung up my land line i was using when the scammer said they could send a transfer $$$ to protect my money. suspected a scam from the hard to understand speech among other errors + when i hung up my land line all was well, but quite realistic IMO!!
