I know when SN first started coming out, and VOAs and UOAs posted....their was speculation that the whole "synthetic" rage will become near nil.....as time goes by, the EPA and etc other "governing bodies" are going to be switching up the oil formulations and it's gonna come to the point where nearly all oil is "synthetic" or sort, be it fully synthetic, or blend.....
So, 8k is the warranty for "regular" maintenance? And not the "severe" service, right? I've heard some dealers will throw the curve ball, "oh you were riding under severe service, you should have changed the oil sooner...."
I'd check the owner's manual again, and see what they classify as "severe" - most of the time the "severe" schedule is marked at 3k/3months....
