My 2002 F350 jump seat is both cosmetically unappealing and uncomfortable with the wood cupholder installed. The wood cupholder makes resting an arm on the center console painful. The reasons the jump seat cover separated from the base, I believe occurred when the cup holder was replaced with the wood aftermarket cupholder. Remov ig the cupholder looses the cover and getting the cover back in place properly is a challenge.

I have been looking for a replacement jump seat. Most have been in tan, I need gray. The jumpseats have been selling for about $400, and often in poor condition. Yesterday I stopped by a pick a pull that has a lot of super duty parts to look for a front passenger fender. I didn't find a fender, but came across a 2014 F350 with a nice interior- but wet as windows were shattered and it has been raining non-stop in Western Washington.

Leaving the pick a pull, I asked the counter guy how much for the console. I was expecting $500-$1400. He said $200. I about fell over. I returned today with the tools and pulled the console. It was more work than planned, as I could not get the front seats to move forward of back. On the way out of the yard, I saw a 2004 F350. I looked inside, and it had a gray jump seat. I asked how much, $100.

I now have both the later model center console and the factory jumpseat. Over the next day or two I will be deciding which one to go with. I think I can get the center console to fit- but won't know until I try to fit it.

Thought you were OCONUS for a month?
I was supposed to be gone from Thanksgiving and return at Christmas. Schedule changed, I went OCONUS the last week of October and returned a few days before Thanksgiving. I was traveling CONUS this last two weeks- returned to Washington late last Saturday night. Great to be home and sleep in my own bed.........

Thought to share what the console looked like in the 2014 before I pulled the console. Also, pics of the yard, the conditions were significantly worse than the pictures show. Walking, the mud was well above ankle level and often rising to the top of my short top boots. Boy do I miss the Arizona pick and pulls.

Pulled the seats and placed the center console. Fits well and only minor fabrication required.

Two issues, the space between the seats and center console is larger than I hoped, losing full ability to rest arm on center console. Other issue is I will have to run wiring to the center console. This console has 129 volt ac inverter, which needs to see a canbus signal to operate. Not sure this 2002 has a canbus. I have some research to do.

Also, I have new lower seats covers, cushions, and heating pads. Plan to get this done this weekend, just need to find my hog ring pliers and hog rings.

Yes, I will be deep cleaning the carpet.

Dude those flow-thru consoles for '11-16 often go for a grand. You could probably flip it?

You could put a new cover on the '04 donor (looks like it has a cover now, typically sold with seat covers -- that looks like CoverKing's "spacer mesh") and the cupholder pads are sold as repros on ebay for a song.

I put a repro cupholder pad in my '07 F150 and it's been great for years.

Sell the flow thru and still walk away getting PAID for the whole project....

Yes, I went back to the salvage yard and they will sell the front and rear leather seats for $900 USD ($991 USD with tax). Tempted to do install the later model seats, but they are soaking wet.

Finished the passenger seat bottom today. Had a huge issue with the trim pieces that holds the hog rings were about inch short. I bought these bottoms three years ago, so hard to make a claim with the vendor. After sleeping on it, I decided to cut a slit at the backside of the foam to allow the hog ring pliers to connect- it worked. Used 3m high temperature and moisture resistance adhesive to fill the cuts. I am using new foam, so not a big issue with the cuts from the bottom.

The right side foam was the wrong part number- I purchased the foam three years ago, so no way to return. I purchased the right driver side foam and it will be in Monday- delaying the project.

I was able to clean the carpet and will make a center console power harness this afternoon. It is raining continually- makes working on the truck a wet mess.

There are write-ups -- I think on FTE -- for everything else you need if you actually want the flow-through vents to work. Although I doubt it would ever work with the '99-07 dash shape. Maybe I'm wrong

You are right, it would require swap out with the 2011-2016 super duty dash. People do that swap, but it is not on my radar.

Can't complete the job until the driver seat pad arrives tomorrow. I ordered a new floor console base tray- $165 USD delivered from FordPartsGiant. Hate spending that $165, but the interior is looking good so decided to splurge.

Frustrating doing updates to this 2002 F350. I can't justify keeping it- but it is running good and looking ok....

Finished the project. Very happy with the functionality and results. The key was the console was only $200 USD. I see this same console listed on Ebay for over $1,000 USD. I would not have done this project if the price of parts was big money.

A nice thing- in less than thirty minutes, with just a T55 and a 18 mm socket I can put the jump seat back into the truck if there is a need. Also, I did purchase the tubes to prevent thinks from falling between the seat and console. The space between them was very small, I didn't actually need to buy these ($19 USD AMZN).

Next, I will replace the 2002 front bumper with a 2005 front bumper, as the 2005 has a cosmetic white trim piece that will fit the truck nicely.

I recommend anyone with a 1999-2004 crew cab super duty consider this console- easy to do and adds great functionality to the old truck.

Installed the 2005-2007 updated bumper on the 2002 earlier today. This required a grill that was 1.5 inches longer. It also requires different fog light mounts, which I didn't have. I am doing this without help, and hard to get everything lined up properly.

When I install the proper fog light mounts, I will also install a new lower plastic valance.

Not sure this update was worth it. My motivation for doing this was to install the OEM 2005-2007 headlights.

I like the tubes. My cells phones seem to dive into places like that.
Of note, many of these tubes being marketed on Amazon. Going through the reviews, it seems many if not most of the reviews are fake five star reviews. Worth going through all the reviews to identify which tube is quality, it which are not.

If you can build something similar for engine bays for 10mm sockets you'll be an overnight billionaire
