Agreed! 1974 Plymouth Scamp - totaled when someone pulled out in front of me. 1977 Plymouth Volare wagon (4 on the floor!) - donated ...
It takes a lot of courage to admit that you once owned a Plymouth Scamp. Just joking with you.
*thumps chest* Me have courage. LOL Hey, we were a Mopar family back then, it was inexpensive at a time I started to need a car....leaning tower of power (225 Slant Six) which was transplanted into the wagon.

Those slant sixes were very durable motors.

When I was a teenager older adults kept telling me that I would get tired of smaller high performance cars and would want a cushy land yacht and/or a practical appliance when I got older. I recently turned 62 and my fondness for small performance oriented vehicles continues unabated.

That reminds me of my friends dad. He had BMW 1600, 2002ti etc. He said to him: When I retire I will switch to Mercedes. 84, drives M4.

In order of purchase: 1983 Plymouth Champ ($200 from my cousin), 1984 Nissan pickup, 1987 Toyota Pickup (pre-Tacoma), 1992 Mercury Tracer (actually a great little car), 1998 Ford Contour (2.5 V6, manual - zippy!), 1987 Chevrolet Caprice (bought from Grandma when Gramps passed away. One of my favorite cars, although ugly even back then); 1998 Ford Explorer EB (5.0 V8), 2000 Hond Odyssey (when I finally gave up the man card); 2004 GMC Yukon XL (got the man card back), 2008 Honda Odyssey, 2005 Ford F350 (6.0 PSD), 2013 Honda Pilot (wife had enough of minivans), 2010 Hyundai Sonata (bought used for my kids to drive) 2014 Toyota Tundra (5.7 V8), 2009 Accord V6 (bought from my Mom for my kids to drive), 2021 Mazda CX-9, 2020 Hyundai Elantra (for my youngest daughter). The other cars in my signature belong to my kids but are (still) maintained by me.

Our favorite car on the list was probably the 2000 Honda Odyssey. It was a wildly popular vehicle back then. We waited 4 months for it to arrive and paid about $2k over MSRP. Our kids were little and it was such a great road trip car, although a bit noisy. My least favorite car on the list is the 2009 Accord that we still own. It's very noisy (road, wind) and has not been very reliable. My son has it up in UT while going to school so, thankfully, I don't see it very often and he doesn't complain. I only keep it around because it's in great exterior/interior shape.

The Mazda CX-9 Signature the wife currently drives is just fantastic. I cannot figure out why Mazda is not a more popular brand. Maybe it's the stigma from the Ford/Mazda days. But the new generation of Mazda products is amazing. The interior of our CX-9 is stunning, the power train is smooth and has gobs of torque, and it drives so nice - very quiet, very comfortable. I'm seriously considering buying a CX-30 turbo for me as a daily driver.

1986 Ford Ranger 2.9L, (owned for short time when I was 15, bought from my grandpa then sold it) 1996 Chevy C1500 Silverado 5.7L, (my real first vehicle. Loved that truck) 1997 Toyota Camry 2.2L (Bought to replace my truck due to poor mpg) 2004 VW Beetle TDI (given to me by my aunt, turned out to be junk) 2000 Toyota Camry 2.2L (still have, I let my brother drive it. This car is ridiculously reliable) 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L (was my grandpa's, he bought in 2007, I bought it from him in 2016, I will own it FOREVER, despite the ridiculous repair expenses it requires) 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.4L (Great daily driver car, has been excellent so far.)
2 years later, only thing to add is my 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0L.

A lot to type.

1986 Toyota Truck- sold to a bunch of dudes who came to our house just to ask if it was for sale. Needed synchronizers in the transmission. Dad paid $2600 for it at the flea market in 2004 sold it for $800 with the transmission problem for $800 in summer 2006. He says he feels he got burned on it, it was used by the previous owner exclusively to pull a boat to Massachusetts from new to 2004.

1977 Alfa Romeo Spider- sold to previous owner who’s wife begged us to sell it back to them. It arrived back to Tazewell VA where we are from on a tow truck and the previous owners wife called and cussed my dad out because it wasn’t running. He clearly explained that before he sold it back to them 😂. She called back later and apologized.

1994 Toyota Corolla- wrecked in 2002 by mom, got fixed by my dad and gave to my aunt who gave it to someone else. Luckily me or my sister or mom weren’t hurt the sun was in her eyes so not really anything she could do.

1996 Toyota Avalon- bought in 2002 traded in 2005 on 2001 Jeep Cherokee.

2001 Jeep Cherokee- still own just engine needs to be replaced.

1994 Ford Econoline- still own just can’t figure out why it idles so high from the start up. 138,000 current miles.

1994 Dodge Intrepid- dad bought for sister at auction. Sister complained because it wasn’t convertible, dad sold it to mechanic who drove it down the highway at 90mph and shot the water pump through the radiator.

1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle- bought October 12th 2019 for $1600, still have it’s one of my many projects

1989 Mazda B2200- my first car (truck actually) bought in July 2018 for $1,050 with 104,000 currently only has 108,000 sat for about 17 years under a carport.

1990 Mazda B2200- bought March 2021 as another project now if I could just find the darn keys 😂.

2004 Toyota Camry- 279,000 currently. Dad is mad because I keep spending money fixing it up because I don’t want to get rid of it. No major work done. Bought 6/25/10 for $13,000 with 64,000 miles.

2008 Ford Escape- bought September 2019 for $800 from my aunt who was mad she left sunroof open and it leaked inside. Bought with 165,000 currently has 172,000 new daily driver by dad even though it’s mine I just am nice and let him drive it. I pay insurance on it and the beetle and both my trucks.

2017 Toyota Camry- mom bought because she wanted a new car because her coworkers all had new cars and didn’t like the look or features of the 2018 models so she got the 2017 new.

These are all the ones we have owned in my 19 years of being alive. I sure do miss our Alfa but the fuel injection always gave us problems. They have had many more before that when my sister was little. We have always been ones to have many cars. If I wrote all the ones dad and mom have owned alone and together I’d be here all night LOL.
