Lets talk about new vehicles

I thought I heard it wrong but the Trax is 1000 pounds heavier than a Mitsubishi Sport and the mpg is better and so is 0 to 60...
My local dealer has 7 coming next week. I may need to do a test drive.

I must have been seeing Blazers then.

Hope the dealer doesn’t play the ADM game on the Trax. If it’s an entry level low margin vehicle they could ruin it (see Ford Maverick).

When Ford gets the Maverick ready the want will be over.
There should have been one in every driveway by now...

I suspect straight MSRP but I do get a GM discount.
I suspect many are being bought now before they show up on the lot.

No mister, you are one year and two days older than I am. Huge difference! 🤣🤣🤣

Pretty sure both of us are not the target market for the Trax. Still think it would be a fun runabout for you and something different than your OLS parade.

My 82 year old mom loved her sport and always drove youthful vehicles.. the smaller the better.

Problem with the Maverick is dealers see them as the enemy. They don't want to sell low margin Mavericks, they want to keep on selling high margin Rangers and F-150s.

This is part of the reason we've consistently seen ridiculous ADM's on Mavericks. The other part is Ford can't seem to find a way to build that many of them despite their introduction as a 21 model.

All aggravated by the love/hate war Ford has going on with their dealers for quite a while.

Rode by my local Ford dealership now. The same inventory as before CV19.
Then they sold to other dealers. Loaded up with vehicles and high prices...no thanks.

Toyota's Dealers are still at it. The Toyota Factories have been hit particularity hard by part shortages. Toyota doesn't seem to be able to dig themselves out of it either. You will pay a premium for any Toyota vehicles under these circumstances.
Yep....
Poor management as well.
Subaru screwed up badly early on as well but recovered unlike Toyota

I had made the assumption when the Maverick first came out, at such a low price and the base being hybrid - was a way to improve the overall cafe rating of Ford's fleet - which is how the OEM's are measured by the EPA - the average MPG of the vehicles they actually sell.

So selling a Maverick lets them sell one more gas guzzling something or other without ruining their overall Cafe numbers.

So I have to wonder if there simply not selling Maverick's because there isn't much money in them and they aren't selling enough Super Duty's to need the offset?
