Lets talk about new vehicles

Those have a hook in you. I don’t normally care for black wheels but that combo looks good. 👍
Yup...I get the feel goods everytime I see one. They are rare birds for some reason
This is the only one on the lot. Good price.
I get the black wheel deal and agree. But as you said this doesn't look so bad.
For the roads I travel these are the bomb.

Speaking of black wheels, saw this yesterday and had to have a closer look. An M235I grand coupe they call it. Very limited headroom in the back. A little over 300 hp and torque for about $52k. Not a true M car and shares zero parts with the two series coupe. Saves about 5k versus an M coupe, a little confusing. I think 0 - 60 in 4.8 seconds and is AWD.

I have black wheels on my VW
I just don't like how brake dust looks on them..like rust. Same on a Mitsubishi I owned a few years back.

Hey Z.....I've been reading a bunch about the Taos and sifting through the posts has made my head spin (doesn't take too much, to be frank).
Is the Taos a good value in your opinion? Do you know if the 8 speed's trannie shifts OK now? Does the intake system need walnut blasting every 100K or do caned intake cleaners stave that operation off?

First off here is an owners thoughts on here
https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/2022-volkswagen-taos-se-fwd-3-000-mile-review.348536/

The 7 spd DSG was the trans that was not loved by most from memory not the 8 spd.
Most prefer the 8 spd.

There is also some UOAs on here and towing information as well. I will PM more info when I get a chance.

Don’t know about value but my Jetta thread indicated that walnut blasting might be needed at high miles… nature of the beast, and if its every 109k or so, is it a real problem? The 8at seemed to get passing marks, even from eddyvw, but nothing spectacular.

Don’t forget, 1.5T is timing belt, but as both threads indicate, might be capable of some truly high miles before needing replacement.

The Arteon is superior to the Jetta in every way, as it should be. The Artie guys on VW Vortex still complain about the 3rd gear shift point though.

The ‘Stang has a 10 speed which I expected to be a disaster until I drove one, surprisingly it’s actually pretty good.

I was comparing it to the Taos but I never had any issues with 3rd gear and the DSG was a bad spot for the Taos.

Of course with the Arteon you have so many drive modes and I use the custom option. I keep the HP up but dial back the stiffness as the Comfort mode is just too soft and a bit de-juiced...lol.

Normal mode and good roads is a great combo for power and mpgs

I don’t know what they did to the DSG in the Taos, but the Arty got the excellent Audi version that it should have had in the first place.

I don't think it blended well with AWD going on memory alone...
