I love the Little thing. Will use it as a carry gun at light dress time. 99+% reliable with high speed ammo. It will FTFeed periodically without it but a quick rack fixes it. It does not stove pipe.

Aguila 40 gr. Super, HS. Works great. I would do the MiniMags obviously. Like m ost 22's it doesn't like HP

It’s been a while, what are the Fmj version maximag?

bought these in 08 I believe. Lol it has been a long time since I’ve been in the gun game.

I like mine a lot as well. It can be picky with some brands but CCI Mini-Mags are pretty fool proof. I have a couple boxes of Stingers that I use for carrying. They have a bit more "umph" than the CCI's.

congratulations to o.p. i tried to like the ruger lcp 22lr because i like small carry pieces, but ultimately im a revolver guy so stayed with a ruger lcr 22lr as a rimfire ccw. the lcp gets great reviews but it was too small for my hands. the ruger sr22 is a wonderful and favorite general-use semiauto rimfire pistol, but harder to carry unobtrusively.

since a caliber war over using a 22lr handgun as a ccw is likely to commence in 3,2,1 here is my take: i like 22lr. i am not a cop, soldier, bank guard, bail bondsman, prison guard, big game guide, creature of nocturnal habits or sojourner into apex predator turf. rimfire is cheap and easy and fun to get in lots of practice. with practice comes the ability to hit center mass quickly and consistently. hits from the get-go with rimfire beat near misses with centerfire. finding decent ammo that touches off every time is more important with rimfire than centerfire. cci is great, aguila too. cci sells online direct at decent prices: https://www.cci-ammunition.com/rimfire/

I have a big wheel and little wheel Ruger (.44 & .22) but picked the dumbest time to misplace the .22 LR wheel … shooting .22 WMR is a bit cheaper than big rounds, but man … And flat out put a freeze on the .44 mag for now …
But, recently I got my wife and daughter the lite S&W .38 wheelies … really surprised how well those snubs shoot …
(yet, some rationing on those rounds too) … Yes, I’m stuck in time on wheel guns … no apologies 😷

My sister just picked up same gun at a gun show we range fired it over the week. Cute little gun & fun to shoot. I have the .380 lcp ll. Sort of wish I bought the .22 since .380 ammo is stupid priced these days and availability somewhat limited. One thing I noticed could have been the ammo or maybe she could contact Ruger the mag spring felt sort of lite I had a couple of misfires where the ammo wasn't feeding. Otherwise a decent firearm for concealed carry.

You should check out the Taurus TX22. Great 22 handgun with higher capacity.

It is a great 22, but he said he likes small carry guns and a TX22 isn't all that small at approximately Glock 19 sized.

That said, if I decided to carry a 22, it would be my choice.

thanks, i like taurus 38sp revolvers, but no 10+ round mag capacity in a semiauto pistol for geopolitical reasons. sadly my ruger lcp 22lr did jam just enough at the shooting range to move it away. i also found it and its mags to be uncomfy enough to manipulate, load etc such that i didn’t enjoy range time, ymmv. if i’m relying on humble 22lr for my humble protection needs then each and every round must cycle properly. my ruger sr22 has been perfectly reliable and easy, but it’s just big enough to be only a feasible ccw for my tastes in certain locales or while wearing certain clothing.
