Lawn mover tractor recommendation

Hi guys.
Hopefully soon I will receive keys from my first house.
I will need to buy a lawn moving tractor.
I was thinking of getting Huasqana with 22 hp engine with spin on filter.
The problem is, there is about 1.3acres of land, most of which is very step hill. About 40 degrees by the look.
Is 22hp will be enough to go up that hill?

The tires will lose traction long before it runs out of power...

You wouldn't be able to safely mow a 40 degree incline. Even if you could, the engine would likely be operating without oil pressure for some time.

I would strongly suggest you consider other types of ground cover for the steep areas (or just let it go natural).

That is more than enough power, but i wouldn't feel comfortable mowing that steep a grade at all on a tractor.

Are you sure it's 40 degrees? That's very steep. There's no way you're mowing it with any normal mowing device.

At 40 degrees you need to be using a push reel mower, and that's only if you can push it up a hill like that (difficult, but possible; I do it). Either that or a weed whacker.

A 2-cycle motor would be perfect here.

Mow vertically and not against the slope so you don't kill yourself

You need a tractor w/ 4wd & ROPS(rollover protection structure). You want to mow up and down the hill not side-to-side.

I can mow ditches a mile long that are steeper than 40 degrees w/ only 18hp on a diesel Kubota BX 1860 4wd all day long.

A Husqvarna is a great mower. I got one used and it runs fine, just need some new tires (tire rubber rot). Think ground cover for the hill.

Just came back from my friend property, He uses John Deere with 22hp twin cyl engine, similar to one I want to get.
His hill is not that steep, and he says that you need to be careful in the end, when you try to stop on wet grass and not to fall into the creek. (Property I'm about to get also has creek in the end of the hill)

Your friends yard isn't bad. If yours isn't too much steeper no problem. You may have easily overestimated the 40 degree grade. If its too steep to mow just remember that not all grass needs to be cut. You can let it grow and call it a meadow. Its good for the birds and the bees.
