Lake Speed Junior High Zinc Oil new video

It's always been a love/hate with Amsoil for me. Go to any forum or site and the Amsoil army will come at you with half-truths blazing. If you can look beyond that and some of their past marketing flops, they make a very good product.

Could be even better maybe if they cut the middleman out.
All I care about is the product. The rest is just noise. Amsoil SS is one of the best.

Yes, and this goes for additive packages that are pre-approved too IMHO, which is what HPL uses, but then internally tests and top treats the final product and doesn't send it through the certification process.

I'm more comfortable starting with an LL-01, 229.5, 502 00/505 00, 229.5, A40 additive package from say Infineum, that then gets blended with PAO/AN/Ester with some FM top treat, validated via testing, than I am with something that starts with some generic GF-6 add pack that somebody goes hog on and then recommends for every approval under the sun.
I think that's the way to go. (y)

“Overkill” oil coming soon to my stable!!

Wasn't a trick question and no wrong/right either. Just an example of where trust/lack of testing data would come into decision making decision on an expensive purchase.
No Royal Purple !
I saw those results.
Your BITOG posting is respected.
I believe your point is to have more depth of information in oil selection. Those oils are exactly what I would want for that $80k Turbo application.

My CCH is the favorite vehicle I have ever owned. California gas prices, including anticipated refinery shut downs (ie Valero in Benicia) have me looking at Elantra Hybrid 1.6 GTDI. That would require careful oil selection, including brand, formula and grade...and OCI !

Congratulations on your 40,000th post.
Finally one that I agree with.

You just bought a new car. $80k. Turbo. Are you going to run Red Line or HPL with high moly knowing 1. they both use high moly which may reflect poorly on TEOST. 2. neither one are certified.

I just bought a new car, turbo, and I'm running a motorcycle oil in it that isn't certified. Higher moly than typical in euro oils

Yeah I kind of see HPL as Amsoil without all the money spent on marketing the MLM scheme.

Empty vessels hating on Lake, I see.
I think the people you're arguing with are anything but "empty vessels." I think there are times to speak and times to listen. This is probably one of those listening times for you, in my view. Edit to add: not singling you out. I listen far more than I speak here too since it was obvious from the moment I visited that many here know far more than me.

It is the combative language of some here that hurts their credibility. It is an oil board I get it, but being civil goes a long way. A few here are part of a gang seems like, their job is to support each other's views at all costs. Like @kschachn is absolutely clueless about the inner workings of the Toyota Dynamic Force engine. But as a newcomer if you correct him, you get attacked by the rest of the gang members. That's not fair. Being a newcomer on this board doesn't mean you don't know anything.
