my sig indicates how many miles on the car. I am the second owner.

I drive it almost every day and put about 15,000 miles a year on it. I change the oil/filter every 3,500 to 4,500 miles with a synthetic or a blend. The PO went by dash indicator. She went 6,000 miles or so with ocnventional oil.

Just sharing my experiences with a product.

Thanks for your input, with your OCI I am surprised that you would have VARNISH.

I think the varnish came from the PO. Like many people they just went by the book or in this case the dash oil change need indicator re oil changes.

This literally was the "little ol ladies" car with all the good and bad that entails.

How many miles were on this vehicle when you purchased it.

I believe you have stated that you have put on about 125,000 miles since you have owned the car. I was always under the impression that you bought this car brand new, I am sure that the 125K you have put on has been easier than the previous 72K since you have stated that you have done OCI's between 3000 and 4000 miles, Good Luck.

If kreen attacks some plastics as it has been said in this thread, I would not use it in the fuel, some vehicles have lots of plastic in the fuel systems including, fuel pump and sender parts, fuel lines, injectors and injector filter screens.

im sure they can handle solvents such as kreen mixed with 15 gallons of gas. i just think its kind of a waiste when you could use the kreen in your sump and just put some techron or regain in the tank..

The instructions on the Kreen container specifically describe Kreen piston soak followed by a Kreen flush (30 min).

They call it Complete Purge and recommend for oil consumption.
 
No piston soak needed on my high mileage savana. Our 06 used oil consistently for months after a top end rebuild. Kreen stopped it dead, just 2 cups in the oil and no more problems for now!

If you need cleaning or de-coking, kreen is your stuff.

its cool..its just my opinion. if i were going to do a "complete system purge" i would order 2 qts of kreen so i could use it for an oci. 2 thousand miles with kreen is going to do alot more than a 30 min flush with double the dose in my opinion, but im sure there are cases where the car could use both. i wouldnt waste it in my gas either, its more valuable used as a sludge cleaner, especially when gumout regane is so readily available and cheap

use it how you see fit, im sure it works well in all areas as advertised, but i try to conserve it myself because i value the product. There aren't any others i know of that perform like this one

Note that kreen will not last two thousand miles in most cars.

It is volatile and will boil out through the pcv, cleaning that, too!

It works fantastic in the fuel as a carbon remover, as well as cleaning sticky injectors.
 
I put Kreen in my 2008 Ford Mustang with 110,000 miles. I noticed a smoother idle right off the bat. I've had it in for about 600 miles and noticed it dropped my dipstick from near the top of the ok range to near the bottom. So, I added some more oil. Looks like it does burn off quick. I really haven't noticed a difference in the oil's color on the dipstick. I'm doing different than most here. I put Kreen in at around the 6000 mile mark of changing my oil. I usually change it around 6000-7000 miles. So, I added it at the 6000 mile mark and will change the oil around the 7000 mile mark. I am going to add the other half of the can to the next gas fill up to comply with the instructions. Like others, I had to use pliers to get the top off. The stuff does smell strong. I can't say anything bad about it. I have seen nothing negative about it. Instant smoother idle was impressive to me. I will probably do the Kreen routine every 25,000 miles from now on to keep things clean.

Now I am 1200 miles with 16 oz Kreen in the BMW's crankcase. (see my previous posts re observations) I think there is some combining effect by doing all three.

In about a week or so I plan to change oil and filter. I expect the filter (it is a drop in filter) will be a bit dirtier than normal.

Then in about another month I plan to remove the valve cover when I change the plugs and check on varnish.
I changed my valve cover gasket last weekend. Still varnish there.

I ran into this with a couple of engines, the 05 Honda was a good example. Nothing would shift the discolouration, only stripping it down and using some really harsh chemicals and elbow grease worked.

It seems almost like a tattoo verses something on the skins surface, if the chemical can get to it it washes it way but if its deep in the pores (aluminum seems worse) then nothing will move it.
I would run it a few times, if nothing seems to be getting better then leave it.

I agree. It is possible the metal is stained, which is very hard to remove.

my feeling as well. I think I am done cleaning for while.
 
Their website makes it clear that this product is not for personal or consumer use.

Is this to get them off the hook if something bad happens?
