Just a small update.. I thas been 612 miles sice I added Kreen. My valve ticking when warm or cold seems to be gone. No change in my light "thumping" sound on a first cold start of the day that is gone after two minutes or less. I think it is a worn valve timing unit (vanos). A clean engine will not fix that.

Oil is getting a little darker per a blotter test. Not sure there was a lot of crud in the engine prior to Kreen except varnish which, per other posters, can cause valve tick etc. This car had 2-3 Auto-rx treatments and at least one MMO in crankcase treatments.

I do not see any burn-off of kreen as oil level has not reduced to any measurable level. Keep in mind BMWs are very tight engines. They even run different if the dip stick if left out as it creates a vacumn leak. Pehaps this is why no burn off.

Anyway my observations.

Seems like Kreen is working very fast.

More proof that Kreen is working.

I am guessing that after 2-3 treatments of auto-rx that you still had Valvetrain Noise, and the one treatment of MMO did not help your Valve ticking noise.

It seems like if members want fast results in cleaning up there engines then Kreen is the answer.

Woohoo, received my Kreen today! Pretty fast. Will check did they charge my card more. I guess you will see new thread about Kreen soon, like on Sunday.

Varnish is really tough to get rid of and Kreen seems to be the best in the business at shifting it.

Exactly. Nothing will fix mechanical problems except going in and doing the job.
Keep going it sounds like you are getting good results from the product, it will be interesting to hear what the final results are.

I'd say you are lucky if they didn't charge you shipping. My shipping costs to Minnesota have never been very low.

Someone did mention that when they called Kano they said they were having computer problems and shipped them the wrong free product. Did you order through the website?

new observation.
After aoout 675 miles with 16 oz Kreen in the crankcase, I noticed about 15 seconds of sharp lifter clicking on my start to go home from work. Cra had been setting for about 8 hours and outside temp about 93. Go figure? Cleaning engines often make funny sounds.

The lifter/lifters can be leaking down, and it is taking a little time to pump it/them up again.

Sure, but why would kreen make it any difference. it was not doing it yesterday. Perhaps one or more lifter oil passages were partially plugged before and not now? Just interesting.

Don't forget temps in the 90's the oil is a bit "thinner" than when temps are cooler, so it can leak down faster in a lifter that is questionable. Kreen thins oil too. You might have a bad lifter, complete the cleaning and wait until you're running straight oil with no Kreen and a new filter. Give it some time.

I had a Buick do the same thing, it went away in a few days.
I can only thing i can think of is that some junk got loosened in the lifter and is partially blocking the feed hole.
Not a big deal just keep going, i imagine other things may get freed up within a short time like the rings ans so on.

I have a friend who used another oil additive, will not say the name, but he did a CLEAN AND RINSE, he got no results.

He has gone 700 miles on Kreen and says his engine is running better, he might pop the Valve Covers off, and he may do another Kreen Application, I told him to contact me when he does his oil change.

Now about 900 miles on my kreen additive. Car is running fine. very little, if any, engine noise. Mileage seem up etc. However, weather has been cooler and have not used air as much. Blotter test oil sample is getting darker each check. Have not seen a drop in oil level since adding. not sure there is much kreen evaporation. i will watch closely.

Kreen seems to do very good job of mild cleaning and the price is very reasonable, but the problem is they don't ship it to us in California. I wonder why the restriction of selling this product in CA ?
