I'm thinking about the official Kreen piston soak procedure. If I put 30 cc of fluid into a cylinder with 450 cc volume (4cyl, 1.8L engine) that has only 45 cc free space after the 10:1 compression ratio, how real is a possibility of hydrolocking the engine? Sounds scary to me.

Your calculations are correct. I would try to rotate the engine by hand using power steering pulley or whatever method is used during the valve adjustment or timing belt replacement for that particular engine. If you crank the engine with the starter without plugs installed, most of the Kreen will get expelled out.

You can still get the 2 Aero kroil for $12 with $5.95 shipping deal.

Also there is the NED deal. 2 King siz cans of AeroKroil for $12 shipped. I think I called it the TED deal a few posts ago. Not sure what NED is, but I did it before I saw they had a Google deal a few months ago.

Is there a way to get something other than Kroil using that deal?

They direct you to crank with sparks plugs installed. This is why I'm uneasy about it.

So kreen should be fine to be in oil for the full oci? Just ordered a bottle. I don't want to wait to long fo arx and MMO to work if it will. When I receive it will drain my current fill, put 15oz in 5quarts of oil(would you recommend running thinner oil with kreen in sludge monster?) 6oz to 18 gallon tank, and change filters every 1k miles. Will put rest in my Dad's truck, he is around 3k on 10k mile oci with PP, change filter around 5k, don't like how his truck vibrates on idle sometimes.

Probably not in your case, change the oil and use the cheapest 5w-30 you can get with a pint (the 1 oz difference isn't important if you want want to be critical then measure 15 oz out) of Kreen and a new filter.
Run it 1K and repeat until its clean.

No there is no reason to, run the same weight oil you have been using.

The vibration could be lots of things, i wouldn't run Kreen for extended OCI.

IMO Kreen doesn't hang around long in any engine with hot oil.

Neat thing is it evaporates out through the PCV system and cleans that too!

I believe your right it does "boil off" quickly from what i can tell its around 1K of normal use, yes it does clean the PCV system.
The dipstick gets cleaned for a good distance up the tube a long way from being in the oil so the fumes definitely have a cleaning effect.

In a confirmed sludger like the Toyota having the liquefied sludge rolling around for whole OCI cant be good IMO.
I think it would be better to get it out of there ASAP.

ok, will use Peak, 5w30 for 1000 miles and 2 filters. I've been using 40 weight oil for last fill, and top ups before. Will see how it goes. Will probably make a video how engine runs before drain. And then one more after change and adding kreen during filming, to document changes in noise and vibration.

Agreed. In my well maintained but extremely high mile trucks I just changed the filter (always carefully filled first) and drove on. In a severely sludged engine I'd want to get the crud out of there pretty quickly though.

Just had a thought, what if run some kreen through vacuum line? Like seamoam? Both can go to oil and gas, so in theory should be fine. And probly will clean out much more than seafoam.

It wont harm anything but there are better products for that job.
GM's original Top Engine Cleaner and the version from Chrysler probably work the best I've seen so far. The Toyota 3.0 is not known for top end carbon issues so i honestly don't see much benefit.

I went ahead and called them. They said that the web page ordering is screwed up and gives different product than it should be (the free offer part). They are sending the aerokroil can at no extra charge. Great company with great customer service!

Looking forward to using the products. Will keep you posted.

Trav, this sounds like a great company, do you have anything new to report about Kreen in the cars that you have used this product in.

Do you feel that it works better in the fuel or oil, any feedback would be appreciated.

Kano Labs charged me 14$ today. Will they charge additional amount after couple days? Or I got lucky and they will ship it free?
