I just want to apoligize that I didn't get any Japan Motor Oil Pics. I don't get why people get so crazy about Japanese cars. Most of the Japanese population cannot afford a S2000, Skyline, and barely see any Japanese cars that are sold in the US in Japan etc... most of population drive Japanese or French Mini Cars. Its suprising that I looked really hard and couldn't even find one Tuning shop in Japan .. iwanted to take pics of the oils.. but to no avail. So here are the Korean ones. Its funny how majority of Korean use Synthetic oil.

Those ZIC cans look like paint thinner containers. I wonder how they pour without dribbling.

I've seen Motul stuff in the same kind of cans.

Probably you'd have to puncture the corner of the can if you really wanted to get all of the oil out of it.

^^^^^^Yeah. when I was there. I saw some Peugeot 206, Honda beats.. very small cars. Saw some Scions, Theres not many big sedans. I saw some smart cars too. I did see two new Hyundais. I was happy.

Let me see if I get this straight: most of the Japanese population drive Japanese or French mini cars. Of the French ones, some were Peugeot 206?

I saw a gazillion Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, although there was probably a larger number of smaller cars like the Daihatsu Mira.

Long time ago, the Korean Goverment mandated that Korean companies make several things to make Korea Industrial strong, from Chips to Ships. Samsung, Hyundai, Daewoo, LG, Daelim , Hyosung, SK etc.. make several things. Of course Samsung and Hyundai are the big giants in Korea. Hyundai, LG, SK, Ssangyong etc.. do Petroleum too. Kia is the only company i know that only make one thing and its cars.

Moribudman: I saw very few Honda Civics.. but i did see Toyota Corollas , but they don't look like the ones here.

The Japanese government dishes out tax rebates for owning K-class cars. Even small cars get tax rebates. Explains why those small cutesy cars are popular.

^^^Hey I think its a great and smart idea. Korea is a small country and everybody has a midsize or large sedan. It feels very cramped because of the cars. Japan in the other hand didn't feel cramped because of the cars. its wierd. Japan also had cleaner air than it did in Korea. it kind of ****** me off because alot of people get laughed at for owning mini cars like the Daewoo Matiz and the Hyundai Atos in Korea. Hyundai,Kia, Daewoo also has the American sized mindset of cars. Bigger the better. Thats why Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe are a big hit there.. geez. why won't they learn. Small country. .... need small cars.

The Matiz (now Spark) is a great little car. In fact, someone did say that if you want to drive a Daewoo, make sure it is a Matiz. It is a very well designed small car. Very popular in Europe and it is Daewoo's best seller before its demise.

I myself drive an Aveo (former Kalos).

Anyway, back to the topic of small cars, depends on the country and the tax structure. In Singapore, we sort of rent our cars from the government. Each car comes with a certificate of entitlement (COE). Sort of a license to own a car. Yes we are small but that didn't deter people from getting bigger cars because the COEs of big cars are much cheaper than small cars.

All this is brought about by this bidding system. Yes, we have to bid for a piece of paper that entitles us to own a car.

Malaysia on the other hand has lots of small cars because one of their national car makers Perodua is actually producing pint size rebadged cars from Daihatsu. These are actually Daihatsu Cuore and Move models.

^^^ I wish that all countries would drive smaller fuel efficient cars. I wouldn't mind driving a Daewoo Kalos, Chevy Aveo.

LG-Caltex is renamed GS oils by the way.

Let's discuss Japanese cars

In my parking lot, there is an RX-7, and Nissan Cube, Toyota Hilux(owned by a co-worker), Toyota Cavalier(co-worker), MS-8, thing 626 breeds with 929 with an mx-6 nose job, or do a search, no K-cars, and it's in a college neighborhood.

At one school

Mini cooper, toyota chaser, same size as my MS-8, V-8 BMW, Honda Oddessey(sweetest minivan ever made), a few other minivans, and a total of three
K-cars.

The other

in the parking lot I am in. A big van, can't remember the name, one K-car, two honda fit's, Mitsu legnum(Galant wagon), subaru impreza wagon, celica, 2 door land cruiser, and some other minivan

Yes, K-cars(less than 660cc's, turbo okay), get breaks with inspection(saves about $300 every 1-3 years depending on age), road tax, another $200 or so, insurance, about half price, and of course gas mileage.

But, they ride bad, they have 200-350 kg weight limit, and not much of an interior.

I will try to get pics of some Japanese oil cans if i can in the next few days.

I took this near a Festival in Fukuoka, Japan.. Maybe its because of the City.. The long parking long was full of Mini cars like these. almost 90% of them were mini cars. the Last pic is my Friend's Friend car that we drove in.. quality car it is.
