Maybe some of you wise folks can enlighten me on this. Forgive me if discussed before. I have been impressed with the very good UOAs on this site for Kendall FS w/Titanium. This oil appears to also turns in very good UOAs when used in DI and Turbo DI engines. However, I have noticed that Kendall now has a 5W30 FS that is Dexos 1 certified but if you look at the specs of the Dexos 1 approved Kendall 5W30 FS it does not contain titanium. Additionally, the Kendal 5W30 FS w/Titanium is not Dexos 1 approved (based on the labels on new red bottles). Another thing of interest is that the Kendall 5W30 FS w/Titanium now only has a .01 dose of titanium where previously the dose was greater than .80. Mobil1 Super Syn and Castrol Edge both have titanium and both are Dexos 1 certified therefore, I wonder why these oils with titanium can achieve Dexos 1 certification but I have to assume Kendall 5W30 FS w/Titanium can not.

I'm not sure what's new and old...but the red bottles of GT-1 Full Synthetic that are sold at the discount stores may not be the same thing that is sold in the lighter grey / multi-colored bottles. Kendall's website still suggests that the latter is Dexos 1 certified but in 5w-30 only in this flavor...which is independent of a specific Dexos 1 product going back a few years that apparently is no longer available ( also in a lighter bottle ).

Are you sure the red bottles are a replacement?? These red GT-1 FS bottles of 5w-30 sell for $2.99 at my local .99 Cent Store and don't have any Dexos certification listed. The approvals listed are Ford and GM if I remember correctly and there are only three.

Yes red bottles are the new design....I pay a lil over $3.00 with tax a qt...can't beat it

Not OP, but are you guys saying that the new red bottle Kendall has a different formulation? I still have 2 gallons of the old silver bottles left.

Based on the Kendall website I am not sure that is correct. It could be a misprint but the website shows far less titanium in the products containing titanium than before thus that appears to be a reformulation to me.

Regular Kendall Full Synthetic with Liquid Titanium is NOT DEXOS approved. They have a separate Kendall Full Synthetic (no titanium) that is DEXOS approved and has a green logo on the label.

New red bottles are the same formula as the previous silver bottles. As stated on the PDS, they both contained the same amount of titanium, 100ppm. (.01% = 100ppm) They did remove the moly and made a few tweaks but they did that quite a while ago and before the bottle change.

Old PDS and new PDS are identical additive wise, its viscosity's have a slight change.

, Good to know that the titanium content is still the same! Thanks!
