Kefly oil filters

I am a years long occasional reader but new to actually joining here. I stepped back from forums after years of being a Mod elsewhere.
A curiosity has pushed me to join and ask--

A friend bought these for his Camry.

I haven't found any reviews anywhere. Not here, not anywhere.

I will not put these on MY car unless I can see some real research on them. Has anyone done a tear down?

My hope is they are made by someone who makes quality filters under another brand, and that this would be the same quality, just at a bargin price.

Thoughts?

First, welcome to BITOG. Many of us here starting out the same way, visiting the site for a long time before joining.

I have never seen Kefly oil filters, nor have I ever seen them discussed here on BITOG. Other than "Provides better filtration", there does not appear to be any claim of filter efficiency. I didn't see any brand name printed on the filters, but it is interesting that the print on the can appears to be made to closely mimic Toyota OE filters.

Genuine Toyota filters and good aftermarket brands often aim for around 98%+ efficiency at 20 microns using synthetic media, though many conventional filters only catch 40+ micron particles, so Kefly provides functional filtration but high-end synthetic media (like Amsoil's 98.7% @ 20 microns. Seems to more efficient than the Toyota OEM filter.

There is hundreds of oil filter manufacturing concerns in China. Does not take much for them to private label with whatever name a importer/distributor wants on them. Quality is whatever the importer/distributor wanted to pay for. I suspect most of them would be at least a jobber grade quality but I would not install one without opening one first. Plus I am sure "Kefly" would disappear about as quick as they showed up if they were sued for any civil litigation for defective product,

They make filters for MANY different vehicles : https://www.amazon.com/s?k=kefly+oi...prefix=kefly+oil+fil,aps,490&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

Here is a Kefly Honda cut open . This guy was commenting they are heavier than his OE Honda filter.... they look like possibly from one of the PG associated factories.

This is what I am looking for. My friend who bought them goes cheap on things. I do not. I thought when he was telling me about them that they were Toyota filters. Upon opening the link I see they are a never heard of brand.

I drive a lot of miles and change my oil every 4-6 weeks. For decades it has been Toyota OEM or Mobil 1 from Walmart. Seems like the safe thing to do is to skip the significantly cheaper product until I can find some good info. I suppose I could buy the 2 pack and see if I can open one up. I have never attempted it and don't want to buy a special tool for one time use. Perhaps I can make a request to some YouTube CC. See if they would.

Thanks to all for the replies :)

Certainly do like typical PG type of design and construction.

If you have or can borrow some of these in this vid but of course it is easier on the thin canned U.S. filters :

FWIW Amazon has sold Pentius filters for similar prices per dozen, and those have been very well constructed filters.
Thanks, I'll look them up! I do care about how well they filter etc, I try to get at least 10 years 400k+ Miles out of my road car.

That is like a 0.05% probability.
Why do you say that? My previous Camry had 372k miles and ran like a top when I sold it. My current 2020 Camry has 240k with absolutely no trouble. I should be approaching 500k in another 5 years. I do expect to need perhaps shocks and CV joints before then. Time will tell.
