Jiffy Lube Synthetic Oil Change - $109.99!

$20 is very cheap. Even pre “current pricing.”
That is the point, and what I strive for. Since that post, I've been considering raising my prices $5 on each tier. In my area, that would put me above the cheapest oil change - Walmart's s-...I mean Pit Crew oil change by $0.12 with tax factored in. But I'd still be the cheapest around on the middle and top tiers. Not to mention I'm using superior oils and far superior filters. I'm still against raising the prices, but the common sense side of me says it is necessary. Decisions, decisions.

Edit: ARCO's post right before this further confirms the common sense thought. Even DIY is more expensive than what I'm currently at.

Edit 2: adding my closest Walmart's price board for comparison. It's also worth noting, my current $20/$25/$30 pricing includes the tax, so those are out-the-door prices. Walmart's prices add 8.5-10% tax around me.

The Euro change is so stupid that it costs more, the filter isn't $20 more, the oil is no more expensive than ILSAC oil and they still surcharge above 5qts and almost every euro car takes above 5qts.

My proof is my mom got raped there once for a total of over $120 for special oil her car needed or else the engine would explode. Called and spoke with lead scumbag, no joy.
Called district manager, no joy.

Now I tell everyone I know never to go there for anything other than an inspection. And I warn them that new wipers are not in the inspection needs..

Surprised people go to Jiffy Lube, most horrible place to take your car and it looks like overpriced, they charge more than car dealers, its a joke.

Why they even have mineral oil, its almost impossible to find it. i want them to put 0w-20 that is non synthetic. Oh wait, they willl probably put wrong viscosity anyway

Most people I know avoid the dealer because they're evil? When I want my tires rotated and a change, I go there. They use what I use, so meh, why not? Its $49.99 and sometimes they throw in an inspection for free while they're doing it. Point to add, my local dealer is solid, if your car is anywhere near an inspection, they just do it for free while your car is in the air..

Nearby Jiffy Lube:

$109.99 for 5-quarts of full synthetic (PP at most locations)

Each additional quart is $12.

I recognize that most BITOGers change their own oil and chase sales to save a few dollars on the cost of oil.

This pricing at Jiffy Lube illustrates that we are already saving a significant amount of money by DIYing, regardless of which oil we use. In other words, don't lose too much sleep if you missed a Walmart oil clearance. ;)
Dealer wanted $150 to change the oil in the ram. Granted it calls for the SRT oil.

Oh yeah, I figure for my Mercedes E-350 which takes 8.5 quarts, that would be about $172 for the oil change. The dealer is normally about $200 if you just want an oil change instead of service A which is typically $300. At least at the dealer you can get a loaner or some free snacks/car wash as part of the service. As for me, last time I just took it to an indy for $20 and they changed the oil and rotated the tires and I brought my own oil and filter. Mann filter was under $10 and the oil was Mobil 1 0w40 which was about $24 for a 5 quart jug from Walmart before the $10 rebate. They even gave me back the unused 1.5 quarts. So a tad over $50 for a Euro oil change.

Valvoline lube centers no better

At my age, it's getting harder to get back up after laying under the car to drain and change the filter, but there's no way i'll pay that much, cheaper to pay neighbor kid to start doing the oil changes for me. ;)

Safety and ease of use are key reasons I use the MityVac. I swap out the filter every 2nd (or 3rd) time.
I used to be a naysayer, but now I am a believer!

Additionally, learning proper ways to get up really help.
