Is it safe to say that if an oil carries JASO MA spec then it basically means it's free of friction modifiers or at least it has so little of them that they don't pose any harm to wet clutches/shared sumps?

That's what I gathered from my research, but I thought I'd double check with the motorcycle crowd...

Thanks.

Yes, if it has that spec, its going to be fine for wet clutches. Now Rotella has been used for many years before getting the rating, with no ill effects, it just was barely out of spec on one of the JASO criteria. Many people swear Mobil Delvac (no JASO MA rating) is good in wet clutch systems as well, and Mystik told me personally in an email their HDEO oils contained nothing that would cause issues in a wet clutch system as well.

So, do you by any chance have a link to a document that describes all the different criteria for JASO MA spec?

All I'm finding is fairly vague...
