was getting at that citgo sno and ski basicly.
noticed on that pdf file that it has applied certification for FC

but the Yamalube is FD . wonder whats the difference there

also there are some 2cycle oils that are FD in AIRcooled applications where their sled or pwc for is fc . /shrug

im all over the citgo stuff though ,, saving 20 bucks a gallon is the win

FD is a better certification than FC.

thats what i thought
but citgo snow and ski is both EGD and Jaso FC

but EGD is basicly the same as FD
so thats like saying its FC and FD

correct?

from earlier post

ISO EGD is the “European” specification that slightly exceeds the “Japanese” JASO-FC. There is a new JASO-FD spec, as the ISO and JASO testing sequences have come closer together with the latest ‘FD’ and ‘EGD’ designations. Previously, the only difference was a 1 hour and 3 hour detergency - lubricity - ring groove - sticking test with JASO-FC and ISO-EGD respectively. Now, they are the same set of tests.

A snowmobile (watercooled) engine is basically an aircooled engine that happens to wear a waterjacket and has some heat exchangers. It's not what you'd consider a "watercooled" engine in the sense of an outboard motor or car engine. The internal engine temps of an fan cooled and watercooled sled are pretty much the same so the oil requirements are the same. An oil marketed as aircooled usually has the right detergent package for sled applications.

The tests used for Jaso FC and ISO egd are the same. The only differance is the EGD standards spec a little bit longer run time. Many oils that are FC will also meet iso egd and FD despite not being labeled as such. I might also add that FD oils have only started to pop up in the last year or so. Its very likely that it will take Citgo and others awhile to transition to the FD labled stuff as they have stock to burn first. I would worry about using Citgo sea and snow at all. Great oil, great price and you can use the money you saved over Scamsoil to buy belts and gas. Of course it will have to snow first.
