If I read the site correctly, the "base" Wing actually doesn't have ABS standard. A $24,000 touring bike without ABS in 2016? Seriously, Honda?!
Compare the top of the line Goldwing to the same CVO...the Honda's better equipped for more than $10K less...
A Goldwing is a class by itself, its like a tour bus. Harley does not produce a Goldwing type bike. Just the same as Honda does not produce heavy weight 1700cc v-twin cruisers like Harley except for the Goldwing with its 6 cylinder engine their are no other options. They gave up that market vtwin market, unable to compete.
Yes, true, you could compare both top of the line models Harley to Honda Goldwing but they are still two very different bikes. No question about it, I am not knocking Goldwings in any way, IF that is the right bike for the buyer, same as if the heavyweight Harley is for that buyer but two very different bikes, two different riders.
One thing the Goldwings do not have is a six speed transmission. Not a big deal but if you read the Goldwing forums there are a certain number of people who do wish for that 6th gear, interstate riders who do GPS speeds of 75 to 80 do wish for the 6th, they complain about MPG going into the toilet and you will see comments about slowing down more to prevent the MPG issue.
One other thing, its not fair to compare the price of a custom (CVO) Harley bike to a Production Goldwing bike. CVO bikes come with custom paint, wheels, hardware etc. You would simply compare non custom Harley bikes the same as non custom Goldwings.
