They don't give a turd about us 4 wheelers (which is painfully obvious), and I don't give a turd about their goveners or their schedules. So many times they swing over in the left lane to pass right in front of a car that is coming up from behind to overtake the truck, when all the trucker had to do is wait 5 seconds to let the car pass him before he makes his pass. This is just pure rudeness on the trucker's part. They may have cramped schedules, but they don't have to be a-holes about it.

I have to agree with grampi. Truckers aren't the only people on the road who have a schedule to keep.

I'm from the city where Schneider is located. There are their orange trucks EVERYWHERE. I don't know when your cousin drove for them, but they have not been governed at 55 for a long time if they ever were. Maybe he drove for them when the feds mandated interstate speed at 55.

And besides, a semi driving slower is much less of a hazard than an Aveo driving 55 simply because you can literally see it from miles away and judge its speed much easier.

They were definitely governed when he drove for them I'm guessing 10-15 years ago. Most interstate speed limits were 70 then. He would tell me that if you saw one going faster then it was an independent trucker hauling the load and not a Schneider driver.

Ok, got another one. This is the moron that won't pass. Yea, that's right. You're in the right lane, not going fast enough for them, so they change lanes and get in the left lane and..never pass, preferring instead to hang out in your blind spot. Since I was going faster than some other cars in the right lane, I signaled and moved over to pass the slower cars when I got to them. Then the moron would sometimes get real close while I was passing, as though I weren't going fast enough (although I was indeed going the same speed I was when they decided they didn't want to pass me?!?) Then I moved back into the right lane where this moron continued to drive in the left lane never passing. What stopped that was another moron#2 in the left lane who was going slower than I was, so I passed that moron#2 on the right and the other moron#1 just stayed behind.

I see this all the time with the Vic. Ive had a couple cars kinda creep up then decide Im not a cop and speed off. The racing stickers help with that I think.

I also don't like when people pass me, pull into the right lane in front of me, then slow down so then I have to pass them. I don't understand why so many people don't use their crusie controls.

Traveling on the 401 through Ontario, I saw an OPP in my rear view mirror. I thought I was nailed for speeding at 120 km/hr. Instead, he came up to a guy way ahead camped in the left lane, and sat 15 feet from his rear bumper, until the driver woke up and got the message that he better move over. Subtle, but effective policing.

I saw a similar, greatly amusing episode a couple years ago. I was driving down I-10 one night, a two-lane stretch in Mississippi. An 18-wheeler was camped out in the left lane doing the limit, and would not move over. Most traffic was spilling around it on the right; technically improper, but necessary under the circumstances... Along comes a white, unmarked, but obviously LEO CVPI, and he saddles in behind said offending truck. He does the flash to pass thing with his brights a couple times. Trucking genius not only refuses to move over, but actually taps his brakes, and then stays right where he is. Cop, who must have been in a really good mood, declines to turn on the blue lights, but does light up the left side of the truck with the A-pillar search light (whatever you call that thing). Oddly enough, the trucker moved right over. Funny how such things work.

What about this one: You're driving along on a 4 lane divided highway in the right lane. You come up to a slower car and pass it in the left lane, then move back over to the right lane and continue on your happy way. You're driving along 2 minutes later and glance in your mirror and see the dip [censored] who you just passes, coming up on you, only to pass you in the left lane. He moves over and gets a good number of car lengths ahead of you. 2 minutes later, you, still doing THE EXACT same speed, are now riding up his [censored] because he can't maintain the same speed, so you pass him. Repeat this same thing over and over and over and over and over - I had some turd do this to me a few years back for nearly 100 miles. I was about to pit him out and send him off into the median for crying out loud! Didn't seem like he had cruise control, or he just flat out couldn't drive very well at all. No situational awareness what so ever.
