Haven’t seen many reviews of this, except for one bmw forum question that indicates this is a very old oil formula so might not be the best for spirited driving/track. Wondering what the experts think and what do you base it off of? Thanks

Ask LiquiMoly direct, they'll reply to your inquiry. It's possible that today, with all the enphasis on fuel economy, engines are built for lower viscosity oils and so R & D money is diverted to other viscosities.

Well it's clearly still a current product so the age of its formula is not especially relevant to its use in spirited driving. The list of specs it carries is not especially modern nor impressive, however I suspect this oil is not aimed at warranty-saving users but more at those looking for some high temperature performance - the specs are likely the most convenient that fit the oil's physical and chemical profile and offer some credibility. Nothing to dislike about it really.
