Interesting twist on the FRAM Endurance and Purolator LX Gold filters with Walmart

I am on ramforum.com in one of the oil filter threads and the FRAM Endurance subject came up. I made mention that Walmart appeared to be discontinuing them for the new Purolator Gold LX series filters. Seems another member actually contacted FRAM asking for information on this and supposedly FRAM got back to this member. Claim is that the FRAM Endurance is only leaving select stores that it was a low seller in and that other stores would remain with the FRAM Endurance and that Walmart had not ended their contract with FRAM for the Endurance oil filter.

IF fram can fix the leaf spring stamping, this is GREAT news.

Walmart does have different products in different locations. I saw that when traveling to south TX. If that's what Fram is saying then I can't say anything otherwise. We'll see how it all plays out. The FE was already a limited selection so removing it from more stores will only make it harder to buy since that IS the only source unless one posts a sale on eBay.
Thanks good info. Guess my stores were low sellers.
Locals must have read your posts here. ;)

Strange thing is my Walmart is a high volume seller in the auto department. They usually have a hard time keeping up with stocking. Also has a service center that does oil changes. My gut says the Endurance will eventually go away everywhere. I can’t imagine Walmart having two exclusive oil filters.

It makes sense if an item is a slow seller at a store, the store doesn’t order many. Eventually the manager tries different things that may sell off the shelves faster. The manager’s main job is to maximize sales and profit for their store.

NO issues with my order on Endurance from WM. Just got a new batch in today. They were manufactured in 2025 according to code.
