So far, so good. I'm currently running this stuff in my 08 Wrangler in the 5w-20 weight, full synthetic. It is however the older stuff, it doesn't have the new "liquid titanium" in it. So far it seems to run a little smoother and seems a little pepier on take off. I know that all can be a bit of a placebo effect, but one thing I can say it definately did was quiet my lifter tick down. I don't here it at all anymore, where as before, no matter what I ran it, I always heard it to some degree. I had previously been running various synthetics in the 5w-30 range. If this keeps up, I might just give the Motorcraft stuff a try. I would think it would perform similarly to the Kendal stuff, and you can't beat walmarts price on it.

It's probably a 3.8L V6. Same as mini-vans.

yup, bought it at Pepboys. Only place I've been able to find it, but unfortunately the closest pep boys to me is about 45mins. away. I just happened to be in the area and thought I'd check them out. That why I'm considering the Motorcraft stuff as I can get it at walmart which is 5mins. away. My jeep specs a 5w-20, but the same engine in the minivans speced 5w-30 only a few years ago, so I don't really worry about running either one. But my lifter tick usually seems worse with a 5w-20 in it, thats why I was impressed with this stuff. I've only got about 100miles on it so far.

If you look carefully, the specs on Kendall GT-1 and Motorcraft Full Synthetic are identical for the most part

These are all (very underrated) Conoco Phillips products =)

The GT-1 is good stuff. I have swapped my Sister's 06 3.5L Impala over to it. Was running QS HP in it but was not happy with the results( gunk build up and heavy varnish in an easy use application ). The engine has responded quite nicely to it and as you talked of seems a bit quieter. She is due for a change now. The current fill is the old stuff. The new oil I got for her change has the LT in it. Still just $4.99 p/qt at PB even for the new formula which was great. I figured at least a $1 jump.

Oh, and to the poster that asked, yes, PB's has the Kendal in 5W-20.

The Firestone Service Centers in my area advertise Kendall GT-1 oil changes w/filter for $16.99. Should I ever need an OCI in the middle of winter, I'll go for it!

The Firestone Service Centers here use kendall as well.

Just an FYI - all Kendall oils are GT-1. Conventional, blend, and full synthetic. You have to read the bottle to know which it is. $17 for a change even for conventional Kendall is still good. Just pointing it out so you don't think it is the synthetic version. I would doubt for $17 it is even the blend. More than likey the conventional GT-1.

Thank You!
Yeah, I did know that it is the dino version of the GT-1 line of oils. The price gave it away, and a good price it is to have someone change the oil/filter in my neck of the woods. I still change my own oil/filter but, I like having a coupon handy just in case I need it, especially if it's a known product like Kendall/Penz/Chevron etc. I often give away the coupons.

I often get coupons in the mail for $20 oil changes that state Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic, or Kendall Semi-Synthetic. I've often thought about taking my beater there in the winter when I don't want to do any work on it myself
