hmmmmm…
So this is why I’m not impressed:
She is supposedly worth $740M according to Forbes, and is on track to earn $340M just this year.
If she gave away $55M, it’s 7.4% of her net worth.
If someone is poor as a church mouse and has no real net worth, and tithes 10%, they’re giving more.
If someone with a $100k/yr income but no net worth gave away $7.4k, would anyone bat an eyelid?
If someone with a $340k/yr job and $740k net worth gave away $55k to their university or something (happens all the time) and would only be 16% of their income, would anyone make a PR statement?
So it’s all because it’s TS, and all because it’s a level of money that most people will never have.
But in reality in relation to her net worth and income it’s not much. Nice? For sure. Better than nothing? Absolutely. Changing the life of many of these people? Yes. But anything beyond a PR stunt and tax write off for Taylor, Inc.? Dubious.
