If you could go back in time.

1999 Honda Prelude

It's fun, it still looks handsome, and it's durable enough to be driven for 25 years.

If I were purchasing a garage queen my answer would be different.

My 88 K car! I could have better chosen the options wanted instead of living with something someone else ordered.

If not the split rear window Corvette, I would get one of the two 24k gold Deloreans.
Coming in third place would be a mint Nissan Skyline from Japan.

I would have kept my '90 Acura Legend. Further back in time I would have convinced my dad to keep the '57 Chev 2dr Post, '57 Vette, and the '69 Chevelle SS! Oh and not to let mom drive the Chevelle...it was totaled!

1976 Ford Granada Ghia two door coupe.
Black with white bucket seats and black carpet.
Chrome luggage rack on the trunk lid.
Factory Magnum 500 wheels.
302CID V8.

My Dad turned down a real 427 Cobra for $6k back in 1973 because he didn't have enough cash. His uncle offered to loan him the difference because it would go up in value. Makes me cringe every time I think of it and it happened before I was born!

My 1965 Mustang. Emerald green, tan vinyl buckets, 289 auto, AM radio, no a/c.
Still my favorite car. There were no cars loans for 16 year olds in 1970. You saved your money and bought the car.
A friend wanted to trade his '68 Chevelle SS 396 with trips (3 2 bbl carb.) for my Mustang. He said with gas rising above $.30/gal he was going broke driving it. He had to put $5 in it every other day! Looking back, that might have been a good trade if I could have made the 396 a garage queen.

A car I didn't have:

1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE Hemi, factory sunroof.

Car I did have:

1977 Ford E-150 van with Chateau trim pkg. My parents bought new when I was 5. Had it till about 10 or so years ago when it rusted away. That ol' 300 4.9L six still ran so smoothly you could put a penny on the air cleaner and it wouldn't budge lol.

Car I have now for commuting:

1997 Mercury Tracer LS Wagon, bought this one from original, elderly owner. Immaculate inside, a couple of dents and dings on the outside. Wish I bought it new as the battle scars of "driving by sound" annoy me.
