Didn't the '68 model have side lights or reflectors front and rear? That original pic showed replacement wheels but no side lights that I could see.

140 mph, maybe. Nylon ply tires and four wheel drum brakes didn't bode well for road racing other than straight ahead. They may have gone to two reservoir master cylinders by then, at least on the deluxe models.

Yep, a late 60's Galaxie! My Dad had a 63 that we quickly learned could not be taken out of town. 3 vacations in a row ended at the stealership! Not a bad car, but FAR from a good one.

Hard to imagine they made almost half a million of these!

And even with a 390 they would be hard pressed to ever hit 140 no matter what...
