I need to apologize to all my friends here at BITOG. I also ask questions at NORIA and have been claimed a "liar" by a banned troll "captain kirk".

I posted earlier asking for opinions for my lawn mower Advice

This was my personal lawn mower/tractor that has been neglected prior to me becoming a BITOG member. I had some varnish on the dipstick and I thought maybe I had some sludge issues, but I never opened up the engine to take a look. Your responses were great, and I was turned on to HDMO/Diesel spec oil. I also was recommended a good Motorcraft FL 400S oil filter.

I drained and filled using M/C 400s filter, and Delvac 1300S HDMO/Diesel oil. After a few weeks, I noticed a valve cover leak, and pulled the cover. I was pleasantly surprised and posted pictures of my very clean engine. Clean Engine

I try to be very civilized and congenial towards anyone on this board. I have received some very good advice, and will offer advice on subjects that I have some knowledge in.

This mower engine has never had any additives to the oil. I did top off with Mobil 1 10w30 a few times.

Ya'll are my friends here and I just wanted to clarify things. Helen, if you think I am a troll, please ban me. I just wanted to prove a point that Grp II oil is very good and the add packs keep things just as clean (in small gas engines) almost as well as grp III and IV.

Feel free to label me as a "liar" or "shill" or Troll, but I am not any one of those. I am just a guy that likes to talk about cars, oil, small engines, etc.

Sorry,
Dave

All I want to know is how you mow 25 hours a month? What year is that mower?

I would buy a bigger faster mower. My bigger, faster only has 93.7 hours currently working its 3rd season.

My yard is about 1/2 acre, takes about 3 hours to cut (idle time, bag dumping, etc) and I also cut 3 other 1/2 acre yards in my 'hood'. The yards I cut have lots of trees and obstacles that I have to maneuver around. It is not a zero turn. During grow season, I cut yards about 2x a week and time it about 1 1/2 hours a yard give or take. I cut at a slow forward speed, as it gets better results. If I had a ZTR, I could cut in about 1/2 time. Much time spent going around trees, etc.

I cut at a slow speed, as if you go too fast on Bahaia, it looks like garbage. I almost never shut off the mower when cutting or dumping clippings.

The mower is a late 2001, [censored] (AYP)

Cutting season in Central Florida is from March til November on average.

Back when I was a kid on the farm, I spent 6hours a week cutting grass on the farm and at my grandparents place next door, which included the fence line along the road. These new high speed zero turns would be ideal for that job.
