So I tend to not get along with people on here. I wanted to take the time to apologize to those I have treated poorly. I am not always right and sometimes I can be a [censored]. I appreciate everyone's help on here and only wish good to come of it. Having said that I do think there are times when I am called names unfairly. So let me be clear I forgive anyone who I have had any issues with but I also hope you can treat me with more respect. I like bitog very much and hope to have a drama free time while visiting the site . So maybe from here on forward we can all just get along. And just because I said something that you had never seen or heard of it does not make me a troll it a liar. I had no reason to lie about anything. I am truthful on here and share my life and opinions sometimes it gets me in trouble. I hope to have a positive tine from here on out. Thank you to all which make this place great.

You aren't all that bad.
You should learn to give more credance to the the expressions of those with more experience than you have, though.
You are not the equal of every member here in the experience of owning, driving and wrenching various motor vehicles.
Once you have done all that they've done, then you can become what they are.
That sort of thing.
This is a good place for helpful advice, as well as irrelevant chatter.
Learn to ignore the latter and value the former.
This is a place of both value and entertainment.
Enjoy the ride.

I appreciate your youthful exuberance and it's fun watching you pick up various beater cars and getting them running right. Even when you hit a bump you get over it and keep coming back.

No offense bud, but threatening to break people's jaws over the internet, when you're not getting the answer you want to the questions you ask, is lame. You repeatably do this (e-thug), get called on it, and then come whining or apologizing. Everytime you do this, you dig the hole deeper. You're a young guy who's enthusiastic and wants to learn about cars, which is fantastic. But I hope you realize that this website is a microcosm of how real life is. You can't continue treating people like [censored] and then apologizing after the fact, and expect no damage done. I used to operate in a similar fashion and I can assure you the hole just gets deeper! I've lost good friendships by acting this way.

I said it was wrong. I take offense to being called a liar and troll and I finally got fed up with it. My words weren't correct but being upset about it was justified. I do not go around threatening people all the time either. Listen I an being a decent guy and trying to make a wrong right. If that's shunning well so be it. I get treated like a kid. I'm a grown man who has family a job doesn't take handouts and doesn't crawl back to my folks when stuff gets tough. I am an equal to anyone else and that's how I should be treated. I don't like being called names like a liar or retarded. And what's ironic is its OK but if I do it I'm a thug. Granted violence is not the answer. Even though being honest if I was insulted to my face and was attacked verbally eventually I would hurt someone

Respect is a two way street. I'd like to think this is an honest effort to be a little more level headed, but I feel like we've seen this thread before.

Posing something as a question, then turning around and arguing against the information you get isn't really a good way to have constructive discussions. That's usually what leads to you butting heads with other members. I think OVERKILL summed it up best in the thread that was locked.

Most discussions here do not turn into heated arguments, but there seems to be a pattern with your threads. Maybe it isn't always everyone else? Relax a little and look at the information you get objectively rather than throwing it aside because it doesn't match what you believe.

Hay I have made the mistake of giving out of date advice and was corrected on it at least two times that I can think of out of 1670 post I have here on BITOG.

And I have learned several things from others here, and again, a big thank you to those who have provided information I did not know.

Perhaps others express corrections somewhat to harshly sometimes. Constructive criticism even when it is required to correct a mistake can still sting. It requires patience on the part of the person making the correction and the person being corrected to not step on someones toes.

I use to have a job where among other things I had to check every piece of equipment an electronics company produced. I explained to the production shop that while it may seem that I am always showing where things have been messed up in making them, I make mistakes also. It is just that when I write a program to run things I am the one who also see that it does or does not run correctly, and if there is a problem with what I have done I get to see the problem and make the corrections without anyone else seeing it.

So here is to not stepping on each other toes here on BITOG while we work together to share what we know and learn what we do not know.

If you can't take an insult or criticism without getting upset and saying "eventually I would hurt someone," you may need some help. We all make mistakes but how we deal with them is what matters and getting aggressive is not the way. This clearly shows a need for some anger management or some counseling. This could be a serious issue that could get you arrested due to losing your temper sometime. This could extend into your family and hurtful to your family and being a family man I know you don't want that. Just something to think about and wish you the best.

Ita frusterating to be insulted instead of having a decent conversation and then to say well he does not mean he apology. It bothers me. I seem to be the brunt of a lot of jokes around here. And volk though your right I don't have problem's in the real world. I don't take [censored] but I never have fights or issues. Believe it or not I am very friendly and easy going. I feel like I have trouble eloquently showing who I am on here. THe way I come off into the real me kinda thing

If we are talking about the Truck payload thread, I have to say "Gee I'm glad I'm not having to teach this guy"
You kind of tend to " But, But, But, " any answer that appears to disagree with your forgone conclusion.
NOW, not everybody here is an expert, but I feel most people DO give their Best, honest opinion. in my experiance, you might not agree, but if you hold off, the better, more accurate, opinions will come forth!
We ALL learn here

its not just that discussion its several of them, i wasn't rude about the payload thing until i was provoked. it clearly says gvwr is 8650. and just today i looked at a coworkers 94 f150 his is 6200. the number is the total weight of the truck and payload excluding trailer weight. i am not making it up its a fact and to say its wrong and then get offensive about your position is foolish. people always seem to want to argue with me. my thread wasnt even about my truck it was about payload capacity in general. but we see what it turned into. all i am saying is for those i have been unfair to i am sorry. 01rangerxl i shouldn't have said what i said to you but i dont like what you said to me either and i had enough. we both need to have some common respect for each other. i can do that if you can. thats the same for everyone. i want to have a positive impact.

Yes, the sticker clearly said 8650, but as was explained to you in that thread, that number was clearly too high to be your GVWR. I said that on the first page before the thread ever went south. I was trying to help you by providing you with accurate numbers from the brochure so you wouldn't damage your truck or hurt yourself or someone else.

You're still pointing the finger at everyone else by saying "people always seem to want to argue with me." I wasn't trying to argue with you when you started that thread, I was trying to point you to an accurate GVWR when you asked for it. I probably should have just let the misinformation go and never responded in the first place, but I gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe it wouldn't be another pointless thread.

I should not have stooped to the level of personal attacks, but frankly it is very frustrating to argue facts with a brick wall. Your threads devolve into arguments because you aren't receptive to the advice you get.

I think if you would lighten up, look at things objectively, and be receptive to what people have to say you will get a lot more out of this board. That doesn't mean you have to agree with everything everyone else says, but at least give it an objective look instead of throwing information aside. Having differences of opinion on a public forum is normal and it doesn't have to turn into an argument. The fact that it is mostly your own threads that go that way seems to indicate it's not just everyone else. I disagree with other members all the time, so does everyone else, but in most cases it does not turn into mudslinging contest. I wouldn't have been on this forum for six years if every thread ended up like the GVWR thread.

I'm all for respectful discussions, but like I said that's a two way street and you have made threads like this before. It's going to take some changes and effort on your part if you want to have constructive discussions here and get the most out of this board.

You've received some excellent advice, both here and in your payload post. Instead of weighing the advice and taking it to heart, you continue playing the "it's not my fault" card. Anytime you threaten someone with physical violence it's not acceptable-period.

It's a discussion forum, and what you can't seem to grasp is that when you start a thread it is going to be discussed. You may not agree with some of the opinions expressed. Rather than looking at it with an adult eye you instead choose to view it as an assault on you personally and turn it into a whizzing contest.

This is only an on line forum which you're taking far too seriously. Clearly not emotionally healthy for you. Rather than getting your knickers knotted up when someone challenges your opinions, you can choose to ignore them or discuss the issue in a rational, adult manner without the threat of "jacking their jaw".

You have a lot of growing up to do and I sincerely hope that you get your temper and emotional issues in check. After all, it's just a discussion forum.

All I an saying is yes I screw up but so do other people all the time. But I am the one who has to here about it. And with the gvwr thread I never got rude it was other people taking jbabs at me that made me get angry and argue back. But no one else wants to take any responsibility. I saw I am at partial fault and that's not good enough .I am on several forums and this is the only one I ever has issues on. I am to blade partially but I think its also the sarcasm or rude or plain insulting behavior of other members that is also to blame. But instead of admitting that we are just going to make comments about ne. I am grown up its only in here that there is ever an issue. That has to say something.

That has to say something.

What it says is that you should probably spend more time on those other forums and less here. Problem solved.

If I can't get along with a certain crowd, I just stop hanging out with them.

Actually I do remember you referring to myself and Rand as "fools" among other things. In fact, I stayed on topic until you started calling the information I was giving you "foolish."

Nobody is forcing you to post here. If you don't like the board, you don't have to visit it. You want everyone to agree with you, but you also want them to answer your questions and provide you with information. Something has to give there, because everyone is not always going to be in agreement with you.

Lashing out at people and starting posts for the sake of arguing is what leads to people seeing you as immature. Change that, and you might find your interactions with people here change for the better. I've been guilty of getting heated on here, but I try to keep it in check and it certainly isn't a daily problem for me as it seems to be for you.

If you read the thread I didn't call you foolish until I was already being poked at. I like a lot of people on here. There is only a handful that don't get along with me. Look discussing over I a sorry for anything I've done and I hope all of the people who have done wrong can say the same thing

I didn't make any personal attacks until after you referred to my information as foolish. You had already set the course for the thread at that point.

If you got along with everyone on this board so well, there wouldn't be repeated argumentative threads, followed by repeated halfhearted apologies that have a tone of "everyone else is mean and I'm right."

Open up to some constructive criticism, listen to what other people have to say, and form objective opinions without lashing out.

At the very least you are learning. I assume you are in your twenties and you won't know anything about yourself let alone the world. That was my experience at least.
