I need a new dishwasher

I have 2 different models of frigidaire. Had them 5-6 years each. The fancier model is very quiet and the builders model is a bit noisier. Have worked flawlessly. No complaints from wife. That is what really matters.

I bought a Maytag at Lowe's that was a special order return (unused) and love it. Mine doesn't vent steam anywhere until you open the door. It has multiple wash settings, but the one we use most of the time takes the longest at 2 hours 45 minutes but uses only 2.6 gallons of water. We run it at night before going to bed and empty it in the morning. It is literally the quietest dishwasher I have ever seen. I think its rated at 44 Db. It does an amazing job cleaning the dishes too, even the stuck-on stuff the kids cram in it.

Bosch has the best reviews as of late. I have always went whirlpool but my kitchenaid is junk, replaced the board and im betting im scrapping it soon. New appliance will be lucky to last you over 5-7 years..if that. Fed up with 3 whirlpool failures in past 2 years. All high end under 8 year old items...if i replace now, the new stuff will last me how long? 4-5 years? Sickening. WP support is lousy too. Id take my chances on Bosch..well maybe Miele..nothing to lose!

Every time a washing machine discussion comes up here, somebody recommends that industrial brand - Speed Queen? They say they're made like in the good ole days.

Such a thing as a dishwasher you can buy for your house that's sorta built heavy-duty like that?

New wheels are a small issue. I would just replace them. Also, Whirlpool from my research is tops overall in reliability, which I why we went with them when we purchased 4 new appliances nearly a year ago. Do some research and make an informed decision. You will find Whirlpool makes many brands, Maytag and Kitchenaid included.

My Maytag Jetclean DW is now 28 yrs old. Does a full load in about 40 min. With that said, a new Maytag will be a completely different animal. Mine's so simple it's easy to fix when something clogs. It's just a simple mechanical analog state machine.

Just got a kitchenaid, 39 db extremely quite but not entirely pleased with the drying capability. Even with extended dry cycle there is still water in the DW 9 hours later. Normal wash cycle takes 6 hours it seems. the alternative was a Samsung for us and much less expensive as well. Not happy that KA keeps trying to push an extended warranty on me as well, like the product will not last beyond 1 year

We just replaced our dishwasher a few months ago with this Whirlpool Model, and we couldn't be happier. Very high quality. Extremely quiet. And it cleans the dishes SPOTLESS.

We had to order it, and it took 3 weeks for it to come in, but it was well worth the wait. It is all Stainless Steel lined, and all the racks and rollers are of good design, and very high quality. Stay away from Pacific Rim manufacturers. (LG and Samsung). Parts are expensive and difficult to obtain. I just replaced a Samsung fridge with a Whirlpool, and it's a much better unit. I had 2 icemakers go south in it at over $300.00 each.

We bought a KitchenAid KDTM354ESS and have had it for 6 months now. No issues, other than the longer wash/dry cycles (~3 hrs) on the automatic "ProWash - "ProDry" setting. We've been using Cascade Platinum rinse aid and Complete detergent.

Cleans well and is very quiet.

All the new ones cant clean worth a darn thanks to EPA low water use guidelines. How clean do you think the dishes in the sink will come out if you can only use 1 gallon of water?

Our 25 year old porcelain metal Hobart is still going strong - sounds like a mack truck in the kitchen though.

I may have to replace after I make this comment with my luck - Id look into one of these:

I got. Samsung full stainless maybe 5 years go. Just OK. Needs cleaning additive treatment often or stinks. It’s quiet and dishes are pretty clean. Nothing amazing. LED board shot a couple months ago. $65 fix.

I've seen this posted multiple times in this thread. Reality is it just isn't true. A properly designed and engineered unit does just fine - you just have to be willing to pay for it... Buy cheap garbage and we are surprised at the results? One of the big things is the cycle time gets to be much longer on the low water usage units. Something has to give to get things clean... (A normal cycle on ours is 2.5 hours).

Our Miele gets our dishes more or less spotless, and when it doesn't it's because of the way it was loaded so a spot gets missed...

That is not true at all. Our Miele is phenomenal, and extremely energy efficient.

Same with our Bosch electric dryer. Dries poorly, and almost always needs an extra 20 minute cycle - so any energy efficiency they claim is probably gone by needing an extra cycle to dry properly. I’m done with Bosch.

Exactly!!!!

Ditto and ditto. I would not buy another Bosch. Extremely overpriced for mediocre cleaning ability. On the plus side, it's never leaked.
