My wife has a gym membership and I went as a guess with her yesterday. I could only do 130 pounds. I weighed and measured myself yesterday.
161 pounds naked, 6'2"5/8.

Haven’t done it in a while but I’d say maybe 200-225. I’m 6’4” 220. Never was a big bench presser and maxed maybe 245. Long arms don’t help.

Don't know but drop sets with dumbbells last night 65's 8reps to immediately to the 50's to 12reps.

Never tried how much I could do, but years ago when I had your weight but 2"shorter, I pressed 100 pounds in series of 50 reps. Never tried for the limit as I couldn't afford injury and did this at home without help

You are tall and strong 💪

I really need to start lifting again.

Single rep max 225 for me. I find flat bench dumbell press more rewarding for me. Yet I prefer incline bench press over incline dumbell press  5'10 230lbs. My retirement date is December 20 2020. January 1 2021 making the move to less bulk and leaner muscle. Lower weight and a lot higher reps. I'm kinda worried over it as I've never worked out that way. I've always been a light weight warm up followed by progressing heavier weight and less reps.

I'm 5'10 150 lbs and I can bench 150 lbs a few times depending on how I feel. I think this is adequate. My goal when working out is more to maintain my strength. I have a friend the same age as me who is a personal trainer and cross-fit nut. While he looks ripped, he is already having a lot of injuries and arthritis. I think in 10 years he will be having a lot more issues just because of how he works out.

Higher reps is much better for stamina, this is the type of workout I usually do, but throw in a few days with less reps and more weight. It's good to alternate.

I benched 250 in high school and haven't done a single bench press rep since then. I work out regularly, but I learned to dislike heaving lifting so I don't do it anymore. Beside, tone is where it's at when you're my age, strength no longer matters.

I'm about to do some push-ups and it is all this thread's fault.

I think maybe an investment in a weight bench is a better investment than Planet Fitness. Actually going there, gym fees, etc. No thanks... (And they parked the van outside advertising it.) Are they even open, bro?

You're right. I'm making the shift as I don't need the bulk for work anymore but more important is lessening the toll of heavyweights on my joints. Particularly shoulders, hips, and knees, neck. I'd also like to lean out and get to 200-15 over the next few months from the current 230-235  My left knee is shot (no cartlidge left) from a work injury 19 + years ago. I really enjoy heavy hikes in the White Mts, Vermont, Maine, and Adirondaks. Along with the gel shots, less weight should make it more bearable. I will need a knee replacement but looking to prolong that.

I bench 250 till muscle failure once a week. That's all the weight I have, so I'm not sure of my max. I need to get out and buy some more weights. My size, I'm 6'1,165 lbs, waist is 32.

My weekly workouts are three nights a week. Arms, chest, then shoulders.
