06 Jeep Liberty - been using it for about 7k miles at 5k mile oci

03 Jeep Liberty - been using it for about 11k miles at 7k mile oci

Why? Because it's cheap but good oil when on sale.

Johnny,

I wouldn't go as far to say it's as good as anything out there. What about Amsoil and Redline? Both are clearly better oils. Alas the reason I use PP is because of the deals that can be found.

PP user right cheer. 5W-20 PP in the Chrysler 2.7L every 3.5K miles. Reason: darn good oil especially at BOGO. Stash is almost gone. Hope the BOGO returns soon so that I won't have to don the black mask and shake down a parts store.

No consumption and runs very smooth.

Using 5W20 in my 05 Sable and 5W30 in my 06 Explorer. Bought a bunch of it on buy one get one free. Purolator filters. Buy one get one free as well. Planning on 7500 mile plus oil changes. Changed over from Mobil One - too pricey.

Best friend has '06 Grand Prix. PP every 5k or so with a Wix filter since first change. 5-30 for cold, 10-30 in summer. I steered him to it when HD closed it out a year, year and a half ago. With rebates, he makes 1.01 every oil change. All early blend exotic stuff according to sticky. No issues, quiet, smooth, what more could you ask for?

It's a good oil even if it's not on sale. They don't change the formula. What's clearly better? Extended drains and racing? For the average consumer that wants to do 5 to 7.5k oil changes, I've seen no proof that they are better.

I currently use it in two vehicles:
5W20-2007 Saturn Vue 3.5 V6
5W30-1994 Pontiac Sunbird 2.0 OHC
I was born a Pennzoil guy, never had a reason to switch. On a BOGO, it's hardly more expensive than dino. I've had good performance, and NO consumption issues. Would use it in my other two vehicles, but they see ultra low miles, and I would just be dumping out perfectly good synthetic anyway.

Yes, I was referring to Amsoil's extended drains and Redline's superior base oil performance.

And yes you are correct in saying that for the average consumer the oil is as good as any. However, the average consumer probably only needs Pennzoil dino as most are stuck on 3k mile OCI thinking.

WT.- 5w-30
Reason - I tow alot with my Titan and i get excellent results with PP and zero consumption.
How Long - Over a year.
2004 Nissan Titan - Big Tow package.

I use in 3 vehicles at the recommended weights:

- 5w20 in Ford Expedition and Mazda RX8

- 5w30 in Scion xB

I also use LC20 in all 3 vehicles as well at recommended rates.

I agree with Johnny in that I have quite a stash with the AA BOGO offers, but I would use anyways due to excellent reviews seen with this oil.

Just started to use the 5W30 in three vehicles, and soon a fourth. Very happy with it so far. I got a bunch of it for a $1 a quart a few months ago so that is what got me to try it. The UOAs on this site have been very good also.

Here are my extremes:

PP 5W20
- 2005 Ford

PP 15W50
- 1985 Por911

This oil has a 100C cts of 21.4 (!) and is ACEA A3/B4 rated (flat tappet engine). I need all the viscosity I can get at 180K miles on an engine Porsche rates consumption at 600mile/qt. At 12 qt/change and consumption, I'm a BIG oil user.

*PP 10W-30 in my Sierra
*Been using it for about 2 years
*OCI is around 5-6K
*Performs much better for me than any Mobil product I've tried. Good deals such as BOGO and rebates if you shop carefully. Good reviews from acknowledged experts like Terry Dyson.

5w-30
Because of the good reviews it's received on this site.
