i like PUP and believe it is a good oil. it was the only oil i tried that my wife’s accord wouldn’t burn prior to moving to HPL. for off the shelf, im a firm believer in Valvoline EP HM and M1 0w-40. that is about all i put in stuff that isn’t HPL anymore.
I have bought it twice on Amazon, never was able to receive it. Not available at any of the local Walmarts by me. I suppose I could get it at O'Reilly, Autozone, Napa, Advance but probably pricey.
Once I finish up the Pennzoil Platinum I got for the rebate, I'm going to use Quaker State Ultimate Protection. No idea how that compares to the Pennzoil Ultra, but it's priced right and readily available.

PUP is obtainable from Amazon. Just have to watch for the deals/pricing.
PUP is absolutely common at Canadian Tire and goes on sale every month or two along with the other Pennzoil products.
Other good oils. Hmm. I just had to thin** the plain M1 5W30 I put in my Ford recently. It was too thick. Shaking at idle, hot running and very boggy and slow revving compared to what just came out. This is quite odd and unexpected as I have run Quaker State FS GTL product in 10W30 grade a few times in the past with no issues what so ever - only benefits.
So much for taking comfort in and following the "herd mentality" here by getting an oil change bundle from Advance Auto Parts - Mobil 1 with this month's darling - a carquest premium filter.
I had been staying away from Mobil 1 for years as it has infrequently performed to my liking. But my reasoning was today's M1 is not the M1 from previous decades, and WM was out of Motorcraft FL- 910s. Give it a shot.
I also just removed and tossed this carquest blue after only 2 weeks in service. It evidenced moderate weeping from the gasket. Not the reason I tossed it though. Hopefully the thinned M1 will do ok. I am throwing money out the window here with what should be a simple OCI.

I believe Dr. Haas uses PUP 0W20 in his Enzo.
Yes, maybe it's not formally approved, but it is real world tested.
What does that mean?
It means you can use PUP 0W20 in a Ferrari or similar exotic car.
