Some of us have a fair-to-huge amount of motor oil stashed away- how about oil filters? I was kinda surprised at how many I had.

There's only one on deck for Mom's big 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 L V-8- a Motorcraft FL-820S, to be installed with new oil between Halloween & Thanksgiving. Oil will probably be experimental- Havoline SM 5w20.

Filter on the Merc now- a Purolator-mfg Havoline T-36.

OK, for the Neon- Oversize:
*6- Advance Auto TotalGrip AA16(mfg by Purolator, media looks different than PP)
*3- Havoline T-35(mfg by Purolator, seem identical to Premium Plus)
*1- Penske PN16(mfg by Wix, old K-Mart house brand)
*1- Purolator Premium Plus L14670
*2- Wix 51085
= 13 oversize

Regular size:
*1- AC-Delco PF53(Champion, long pre-Ecore)
*1- Advance Auto TotalGrip AA3614
*2- Havoline T-29
*1- Purolator PP L10241
*1- Wix 51348
= 6 regular: Total 19 for the Neon

Full total: 20

(Why all the Havoline-brand filters? They were on sale for $1.69 when I bought 'em, & the Advance Auto filters were $1.34 last January.

I'm sure some out there have a *lot* more- what oil filters do you have on the shelf, patiently waiting their turn to serve?

I'm too embarrassed to disclose mine in depth. But I'm sure it's well over 50, some by the case. It seems we don't buy much in "ones and twos" around here. Mostly Napa golds, Mahles and Manns, but some PureOnes and MCs too. I've still got filters around for equipment we got rid of years ago. I gave away a bunch not too long ago to neighbors and a struggling mechanic friend.

2 each of the AA Total Grips in the following sizes- bought on the "2 for the price of 1" sale.

8A
16
3600
3614
ST
2 8
2 16
1 3614

1 MC FL1A

15 HF6510 Fleetguard hydraulic filters (for trans)

I buy my Wix and PureOnes as needed.

about 3 other specialty filters that I happened on to for no good darn reason.

5 Motorcraft FL300
2 Purolator Pure One 14670
1 Napa Nascar Select 1348
1 Napa Nascar Select 1516
3 Mobil 1 M1-102
3 Mobil 1 M1-209
2 Napa Gold 1085
3 Napa Gold 1348
3 Napa Gold 1516

1 motorcraft FL820S

I've got 3 cars and I'm trying to keep my extra filters and oil to a minimum (oil addiction rehab)

I have 1 case of Havoline 5w-20 (on sale)

1 FL820S
2 ST5 (old style metal tube)
1 FL1A
1 ST8A (really old, blue can)
1 AA Total Grip 3614
2 PF52
2 Wix 51036
6 NAPA 1040
2 Pure One's in PF52 size (don't remember #)
6 NAPA 51516
6 ST8 E-cores
4 NAPA EcoTec cartridges
A few other rogue filters, and sale items, some for display..
I take care of a family of Chryslers, GM's and several Fords. I vote for all manufacturers to standardize on the FL1A size, remote mount the filter so I can get to it easily, and mount it vertically so I can drill a hole in it to drain it, and refill the new filter before installing. Is that really too much to ask?

About half a dozen Napa Golds(1036+1396) and 3 Amsoil BE-90's.That's my stock for servicing 8 high use vehicles. When I get down to 1 or 2 left of a particular size I just buy another case.

These cross ref to Motorcraft FL299:
4 Wix/NAPA Gold 51773
1 Purolator L40017

These cross ref to Motorcraft FL1A:
2 Wix/NAPA Gold 51515

5 Baldwin B34's for the Jeep.

4 Baldwin filters (don't remember the number) for the Ford tractor.
3 Baldwin filters (don't remember the number) for the John Deere tractor.

12 NAPA GOLD (Whichever fits an F150)
3 Valuecraft (Whichever fits a Nissan Xterra)
