I got some really good hot chocolate powder mix for Christmas. My wife and I had been looking for good hot chocolate mix after trying the typical Hershey's, Nestle's, Swiss Miss, and store brands and finding them all to have weird off tastes.

We both like Starbucks hot chocolate okay, but wanted to find a better one that was not as well known. We like this less known World Market variety better than SB's, and the price isn't to bad either. My wife said she paid $8 on sale for the 16 ounce can. Not really cheap, but it is delicious with a true chocolate taste. No weird after taste or off putting flavor like some of the popular brands on the grocery store shelf.

When we finish this can we will continue looking for other good hot chocolate mixes just for the adventure of it. We love sipping hot chocolate in front of the fireplace.

Hey 3for3, how does that Starbuck hot chocolate compare to store bought... say Swiss Miss marshmallow lovers?'

Is there a change in taste stovetop vs microwave? I've always microwaved my hot chocolate.

Personally I don't like anything Starbuck, they are not good for the price they charge.

What is the different between Chocolate Cocoa Mix and Cacao ? Are they the same ?

Amazon has 1 pound cacao for less than $10: Viva Labs - The BEST Tasting Certified Organic Cacao Powder, 1 LB for $9.49 Subscribe & Save. This one is the best selling cacao on Amazon.

PS 2 lbs S&S is $17.09

I like the taste of Starbuck's hot chocolate a lot more than Swiss Miss or other grocery store selections that I have tried, so far. I find that the SB's tastes more like real chocolate. I don't care at all for mini marshmallows.

I heat up milk on the stove top rather than in the microwave for no other reason than it just seems like the proper hot cocoa making process. I am not saying there is a proper process, I just feel that way when I make it. So, I do not know if there is a change in taste between stove top or microwave.

I am not a fan of Starbucks but my wife is, so i got to try their hot cocoa.

Enjoying the World Market hot cocoa right now, yumm.

I like cocoa, and coconut cream...heaping dessert spoon of cocoa, and 1/5 of coffee mug of coconut cream, mix to a paste, then stir in boiling water.

At World Market stores. Cool place!

For some bling in the hot chocolate add some pure vanilla to it.
