Here it is: 2015 Ford F-150

Why it needs that obnoxiously large grille vs something more streamlined is beyond me. Otherwise like the color and interior. Think the wheel and some other parts will be cheap plastic. Not sure I like the tailgate.

Probably costs $50k outfit like that, which is insane.

Won't have the Platinum trim level tailgate on all of them.....

Anyone notice the center of all the new trucks, the center of the dash looks like a copy of the rams. Chevy did the same thing.....

. I like the looks of it overall, will be curious to see where they shaved 700 lbs from.

Hello, OK, they should make all the gaudy sparkle-trucks they want (market forces, sales stimulation, blah-blah-blah) but at least offer me the option to buy (order?) a stripper with a bench seat. Kira

I wonder about the longevity of the aluminum rivets used to put it all together. Sounds like a perfect recipe for a rattle trap after a few years especially if it is used like a truck instead of a cream puff as most are. I never much cared for the 007 character "Jaws" like grill on the F250/350 of the last few years and this one does not sway much from that same concept albeit it slightly "Toyotaish". The interior looks nice, though, a step up from the current one with seemingly enough electronics to warrant its own electric bill. I suppose that time will tell if the concept/design/durability proves out.

Interesting piece on a Toyota forum here.

I like it. It looks good and the interior looks like a really nice place to be. Overall I think it's going to be a game changer with the light weight and hopefully good fuel economy. If that happens it will send GM scrambling and Ram packing.

It will be interesting to see fuel economy and tow numbers for the EB 2.7. If they can get it close to the Ram Ecodiesel I also think it will be game over for that engine. Why? Around here, Diesel is around $4/gallon ($3.99-4.03) and regular is $3.42-3.49. I can get the EB 2.7 get 28 MPG and not pay Diesel prices or diesel service prices. And since it's turbocharged it will have the same great torque as the current 3.5 EB.

Aluminum doesn't scare me - we've been building planes with the stuff for, what, 60-80 years now? Some of those are 30 years old and are not falling out of the sky. And I'd say all the heating/cooling, hard take offs, hard landings, turbulence, etc are just as hard as a truck use.

Mostly with the all-aluminum body panels, and also 70 lbs from the frame by using more high strength steel.

I read one report that said the 3.5 V6 is all-new. They must've meant all-new for the F150. Though the Ford corporate 3.5 is getting a little long in the tooth I guess. When was it first introduced, 2007? I know my '08 Taurus was one of the first to get it.

Agreed, but it's no more obnoxious than the new Silverado. Even the Ram's seems as large though more tastefully done.

My brother has the new Sierra and we're both unpleasantly surprised by how high the front of the hood is, very little front visibility. Step into my dad's 2002 Silverado and it's almost like getting into a compact car relatively; much lower hood.

Decades of aircraft and trailer use have demonstrated the technology works. Along with the rivets Ford is using a structural adhesive, much like Boeing uses on its airliners.

Ford's engineers also had access to the aluminum forming and assembly technologies Ford used in building Jaguar bodies.

I assume Ford has addressed the larger issue of galvanic corrosion due to the proximity of dissimilar metals - steel frame meeting aluminium body panels.
