So, it's subsidized.

We're having our annual benefits meeting next week. Will find out the new premiums.

I just turned 22 and my insurance is $80 a month, no full coverage of course.

And I've got high insurance limits across the board too.

It was holding pretty steady for years, until the rollout of Obamacare. It has been increasing dramatically since then.

Mine was 500 a month...supposed to go up 25-30% and have to find a new plan since aetna is pulling out ....will know tommorow...75k a year...better off to be jobless/homeless...bull shiiiittt

Doubled over the last six years.

Doubled?

Doubled.

I pay 20%. It's now up to $600/month. So, my company is now paying twice as much, too, roughly $2,400/month for my family.

What's the penalty for not having insurance? $600? I can buy a lot of asthma inhalers for $4800/ year.

Yes, you can. But one asthma attack where you have to hospitalized... Could cost you a LOT.

But you bring up a great point. The point of health insurance is to eliminate financial hardship should you have to be hospitalized or have other serious health care. Could easily be over $100k. 5% of the people probably spend 95% of the health dollars. But that's how insurance works, right?
