I think Mobil 1 EP in 5 quart jugs from Wal Mart is a good oil, cheap enough for me, and convenient to buy.
I bet the Mobil 7500 would be fine for 5K OCI, and the Havoline, MotorCraft, Pennzoil or Phillips Trop Arctic would be fine for 3K to 3750 mile OCI.
I'd run the Mobil 1 EP at 7K or 1 year OCI...and if I ran out to 10K I'd feel fine with it.
I think I am a bit conservative on oil change intervals, but after reading about engines sludging I think the extra marging of safety is worth it.
I'm also using Lube Control LC20 and FP60 and Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment, and Lubegard Red in in the auto transmissions vehicles
My current dose:
-1 oz LC20 / quart of oil initially + 1 oz per 1000 miles
- 1 oz FP60 / 5 gallons fuel every time
- 1 oz VSOT / quart of oil initially + .5 oz per 1000 miles
- 1 or 2 bottles LubeGard Red in the automatic transmission [ depending on capacity ]

Amsoil makes some very good oils, like Series 2000 and 3000.
Before I ever try it, some annoying Amsoil hack will try to push it in whatever car forum I read, and I say 'no way'.
Redline is my other favorite oil and my choice for transmission, differential, and transaxle fluids , but Mobil 1 is so easy to buy I may switch to Mobil 1 for many cars.
