Ah, that's possible. I'm just remembering that guys on the forum use Red Line 5w30 over the 40 grades even in the 6.4 but it might be the 0w-40 that is a problem for shearing.
I would be mindful of LSPI (low speed preignition) and use oil that's within Ford's spec. I use NAPA 5W-30 full syn and it meets the spec. I honestly don't see a reason to use anything more expensive if you're changing between 3-5,000 miles.
Your ambient temp is irrelevant here in the scope of the operating temp of the engine oil which will be in the 200-230 range just guessing. The 5W30 recommend by Ford is fine here. Keep in mind there is more to this than just the grade of the oil. Is the Redline 5W40 really the best oil for that Ford engine for daily use in terms of additives and base oil chemistry?
As always, on point suggestions. Joining a vehicle specific forum might also bring good information as @Adambomb7777 suggested. This forum is amazing with the information in here, but more targeted information might also be useful.
Also, as a general rule of thumb comparing oils.with HTHS rather than grades is a better option. So you could very well stay withing 5w30 range while getting higher HTHS.
If you want the very best kinda thing, HPL is the first to come to mind without knowing the specifics. But Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or ESP should serve the job great
