I don't think Acme has the kit available anymore. I did sign up for their newsletter, so I'll continue to keep my eyes open for a similar deal. I like the idea of a 3rd battery to store away.

Thanks for the info!

I thought you were looking for Dewalt 12V Impact Wrench with free 3rd battery. If so, it is still being listed.

Availability: In stock.

DONT Click Here

The web site is really hosed :-( Don't use the url above but try the link below and then select the kit you want. I was able to add to the cart.

Following link will show you all of the kits with the free battery. Hope this helps.

Dewalt kits with free battery

If that is broken too, then search on their site for
"dewalt 12v max free battery"

Okie doke, took the circuitous path through the site and found it. The specs tab shows (3) batts. and a case (presumably cloth). Now to secure funding somehow...

Thanks, vikas!

$140 is quite a lot of money for a toy but if you can use it, it is worth it. The specification says it is NOT variable speed but it IS! It makes all the difference in being able to control it. It stops instantly when you let go off trigger and you control the impact speed depending upon how much you press the trigger. Once you get hang of it, you will feel comfortable using it to put on the bolts too. Once you use for a real job, you would wonder how you lived without it.

For somebody who makes their living wrenching, you would need no other excuse to buy this. For me, I bought it as a birthday present for myself.

Used the drill on a job and the belt clip because of the light weight was by far the best thing ever.
I had to change out 78 four foot 2 lamp lights.
I had to spin out 2 toggle bolts on each light and spin in two 3" toggles.
It is not much of a load but the battery would last 2 days and charge very fast.
I also had to drive in 1/4" eye lags, only 24 of them but it was no problem at all.

I like the 12v much better than the 18v I have been using up until now.

For $134.99 to my door I think this is a great deal.

i have the 14.4v dewalt impact gun i use at work everyday (im a mechanic) and while they are absolutly awesome for zipping off small nuts and bolts they are not really mean to blast off wheel nuts. my 14.4 can do it but it does struggle especially if the wheel nut or stud is rusty or deformed from over tightening.

they are great...worth every penny...

Eric The CarGuy from youtube bought this recently. His is complete dud :-( His was not able to take off bolts which were tightened to 20 ft-lb. So either his is defective from the factory or is built in the different province of China than mine :-)

I just bought a 12V Milwaukee impact with 2 batterys, charger and case for $79 at Home Depot today. The tool only is $79 but they had a special "kit" with the tool, 2 batts and charger also for $79!

I will not own Dewalts anymore after 2 bad experiences with their over priced tools.

The OP did not want the weight and bulk of a heavier 18V or more impact wrench. So he got what he paid for and it may not have enough power for some automotive uses.

Also the hog ring will loosen up a bit with some use so it will be easy to take sockets on and off. My 18V Dewalt impact wrench did.

I am in the process of going to Milwaukee M18 Fuel tools where the motors are brushless and more powerful and all the housings and gear are metal.

That's what I am doing too. I have the 3/8 rachet, drill driver and just got the impact gun...all 12V and Fuel.

Agreed, if one is starting now, Milwaukee Fuel line is the most recommended one.

I am guessing Eric and the store he got it from has some kind of "deal". He can't be stupid enough to pay $200 for the 12V impact wrench when it sells for $125 from Amazon every single day. By the way, this 12VMax impact wrench has over 95% 5 or 4 rating at Amazon.

as you figured out 100ft/lb "peak impact torque" is not a large amount.

I just grabbed a porter/cable 20v impact driver for 63$ at lowes
it uses 1/4 hex drive but you can buy impact rated adapters for about 3$

It takes my lugnuts off fine (rated 1500in/lb)
125ft/lb~~
I wouldnt want to use it on any lugnuts that were improperly tightened.

For those I break out the trusty corded IR

That dewalt like a great tool, but until something breaks probably have to pass.

The impact driver is really made for a carpenter, right?

its hex drive. Works REALLY GOOD with hex drive drill bits. and putting in large screws.

I also used it on some bolts on the tractor when removing a mouse nest from inside the shields.

Pretty handy , I wanted one of the dewalt 20v 1/2" drive impact's but no budget for that this year and it was a luxury considering I have the corded IR Impact wrench. Then the PC impact driver went on sale for 66.99-10%= win

Just to prove EricTheCarGuy wrong, I decided to put up the video to show that the little DeWalt certainly can take off the lug bolts.

I had bought a Dewalt 10.8V cordless drill. I "retire" that tool after getting a Makita cordless impact, since I found cordless impact more useful.

Then I bought the Dewalt baretool DEWALT 12V DCF 813 (DCF813B) from Amazon and was happy to be able to reuse the batteries/charger I bought earlier.

So far I've not tried removing a wheel nut, but it seemed quite powerful.
Will try it later once I get the chance.

I get no comments on this from you guys? At least some of you would have noticed that I am pulling on the torque wrench instead of pushing. I am quite disappointed!

The area in your post where a video might be is blank.
