My API doesn't market itself at all. If you see the cars driving around, odds are you got one. My API is just in a office complex next to my house (less than 1 mile) and some of them won't even sell to non-commercial customers. I might have to use one of my family member's LLCs to buy stuff from there in the future, but for now mine lets me use their guest/house account and pay cash, since no credit account.
They're pretty top notch overall, but things have been sort of weird since their merger with Advance Auto. For the most part they're the cheapest and lots of garages and even dealers use their stuff.
But for you, according to their site, zero APIs in Virginia. API was owned by Carquest, and then Carquest got bought by Advance, so now API is in its own little weird place in the world, and may even be phased out in the future, who knows.
. Federated laughed at me once when I went in there they are like who are you and I said uh I’m here to check on some parts they asked do you work for a shop that has an account? And I said no they said then get out because we don’t deal with the public. Found out that wasn’t true as they had dealt with my friend before who was just the public. I complained to their corporate even though they are an independent franchise the next week since this occurred on a Friday the manager called me and invited me to shop in the store anytime I wanted too and offered me 50% off anything on their dime. I think they threatened to drop the franchise if they didn’t serve the public I didn’t see that worker in there either ever since then.
