Well, SLX is Group 4 PAO, TXT is Group 3. If they're priced at the same $$, then all I can do is roll my eyes

I stopped in Autozone today and all grades of Syntec were priced at $4.89 a quart except for the GC 0w-30 which was $4.79 a quart. The best made Syntec was selling for less. The batch numbers on the containers all started with 02. It must not be selling very well in this part of the world if people are buying it with 04 batch numbers elsewhere.

The price of GC has gone up now. It was $6.66 per liter at Walmart for the past year and a half since it came out, but now it's $7.12. Canadian Tire still sells it for $6.99 but probably will raise it's price too.

I'm now buying 2 bottles per week since I'm getting scared that the new US made 0w30 will not be as good.

Hmmm, thought the TXT was a Grp IV also, my bad. This does make the answer quite obvious then.

To further stir it up... I'm in Turkey (not that one

) and I wasn't give a bit of attention to the Castrol things. As I started to see the all the humdrums & discussions about the GC initials I paid attention to the racks in the different big stores. Well, specs are the same (ACEA, VW etc.) Earlier bottles used to have the F1 & M.Shummi graphics in front. A few of the bottles neck were soaky on the outisde but I couldn't captured the Gummy Bear aroma but I'm not a dog after all

I probably need an actually opened bottle. They are green and... all of them are made in Britain.
