Well I have been in the hospital for 4 different tests.
I had blood work, a Ultra Sound, two Cat Scans and an MRI.
Waiting on results from the MRI. Ultra sound and cat Scans were inconclusive other than.
My liver is enlarged and my gall bladder is distended.
I'm tired and run down and just have no energy.
But best guess so far is a blockage of my bile duct from my gall bladder
It's been 3 weeks feeling like this and just the past week that I have become jaundiced.
Waiting is tough. I have lots of work to do but no enegery to do it.
Anyone every had this problem before?

Pablo.
I have no pain. Thats the crazy part of this. I've lost 15lbs as well. Though I could stand to loose another 30.
Anyways I'm waiting to hear from the Dr. hopefully she will call tomorrow and then I'll now whats going on.

The MRI should show with high reliability if the blockage, if that's indeed what is causing your problems, is benign. I hope you get good news.

Best of luck to you. Don't let anything delay your treatment, so you can be strong. The medical system is very busy, so you have to do as much as possible to keep those people on track.

If you are really game, you could listen to Hulda Clark (epsom salts and olive oil)...but that sounds a wee drastic.

Out of interest, how much coffee do you drink ?

4 or more per day are supposed to clear the bile duct.

surgery seems to be the answer. keyhole preferably.

A friend had that a few years ago, and it was quite user friendly.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Please get at least one second opinion. This medical stuff is not an exact science. I have numerous experiences of the doctors going down the wrong path of diagnosis.

And, for curiosity, do Google "gall bladder flush" and learn about healthy lifestyle changes for gall bladdr health.

Best of luck.

My doctor was concerned about my gall bladder plumbing after looking at some blood work results. He used the word "sludgy" to describe what he was suspecting.

Those symptoms sound like Hepatitis A or Mono to me. I'm sure that would have been ruled out with bloodwork though.....?

Usually gallstones will cause pain in the lower right quadrant, just under the ribs.

Have that sucker removed. I did 20 years ago thanks to 15 large stones. Now I can eat or drink anything I want to without the least bit of discomfort. Another one of those body parts you don't need.

Hope all goes well for you. Your on my list.

A calcium imbalance [too much phosphorus from pop, or too little magnesium] is part of the problem. People who take Tums or similar products, or calcium supplements that have no magnesium, often have problems like his.

I hope you guys realize that gall stones are not the only possible cause of a blocked bile duct. In fact, galls stones are by far the preferable cause, the other options considered.

I quit drinking pop/soda about 4 months ago.
Coffee intake was 1 in the morning maybe 1 in the afternoon.
Tea after dinner and a cookie or two.
Lately I have been eating frozen Yogurt and low fat foods.
Dr's office called. I go in tomorrow morning to se what she has to say about the MRI and al the other tests.
Heres hopeing it will be a simple deal.

Don - Sounds good. Diet is SO important to health. But maybe closing the barn door after the Horse left?
You will prevent future problems, for sure, but the ones that exist still exist. But I believe you will get it straightened out pretty quickly.
BTW, fresh coffee has 4 times the anti oxidants of green tea.

Friday morning meet with Surgeon.
She said the Ultra Sound, 2 Cat Scans, and MRI showed no stone or blockage and the blood tests showed no Heptitus B.
Just an enlarged fatty Liver.
So she realy thinks there is something amiss with my Liver.
She wants to do a Liver Biopsy next and send it to the Liver specialist in London On. So far she doesn't think cancer, but there might still be a Hepitus something.
She sent me over to the hospital for more blood tests to see how the Liver is doing.
Just maybe the stone or blockage might have dissapeared before MRI, and thats why nothing showed up.
She said the Liver is a very strong organ and can regenerate itself.
Still waiting and wondering.

I have lost 12 or so pounds now.
Feel better that way....need to loose another 35 or so to loose this gut I have.
I'm a size 40 pants. Would like to get back to a 38 or 36.

Fresh coffee....I just have no desire for coffee. I do enjoy a cup of tea, but things still don't taste all that great to me.
Thanks for thinking of me guys...muchly appreciated.

I'd take that as good news, Don, since liver tumors should have shown up if there were any present. You said Hep B was negative, but Hep A is more common and also fits your symptoms. It's usually a food-borne illness; contracted in restaurants, school cafeterias, etc.

Hang in there.
