From a fan of experimenting, DON'T DO THIS

I'm a fan of trying new things, believe me, but DON'T MIX acetone and Amsoil PI. In the bottle, it looks like a funky suspension, which MAY have large enough particles to get trapped by the fuel filter. However, after you pour it out, you'll see globs in the bottom of a previously clean bottle. While it may do no harm (get trapped by the fuel filter), at a minimum, some ingredients are NOT making it to the injectors.

Thats an interesting reaction! The only thing I have mixed with acetone is marve mystery oil. Those 2 blended perfectly, into a milky pink solution.

Just a thought... Did you mix the acetone in the PI bottle? Acetone is rather unkind to most plastics... The "globs" you are seeing may be the interior of the bottle breaking down.

Good warning post! I agree with Mirthful Me that it's probably the plastic container breaking down.

Acetone and MMO or Lucas UCL didn't mix well. It separated out into two layers. Maybe in the presence of gasoline things would be better.

Hmm, I posted on this yesterday but my post seems to have vanished. Oh, wait, I got a crazy "Form is no longer valid" warning. Anyway.....Yep, acetone will breakdown many plastics. I made the mistake of mixing acetone and toluene in a plastic measuring cup (trying for accuracy, you see) and after a couple of stirs my stirring rod got stuck to the side of the completely gooey melted cup.

So I poured the mix in an empty Neutra bottle.....which promptly wilted and then emptied the concoction out the side......

Thats exactly what I did, worked out fine for me to.

Acetone and Redline SI-1 bottles don't mix. They get really hazy.

A small amount of Acetone added to Simple Green makes a great engine cleaner tho!
