Fram PH10575 1yr/10k Kms

If that's true, then it's likely a Fram made Defense DL with similar to EG construction and a nitrile adbv. The one I saw when I googled the DL10575 showed a Champ made design(likely ecore), identifiable by baseplate with auxiliary outer plate. In any case, I think you are wise to shorten the fci to 6 months for the DL.

As for the cause(s) here, while the cold temps and higher bypass psi may be contributing factors to the fail, 'imo' the primary reason is a lack of media area resulting in wide pleat spacing. That allows for more potential tear areas, points. Basically, the same reason tears seen in other filters. Add more media, tighter uniform pleating, less potential to tear.
If lack of media area is the primary reason, why does the media of the filter in the video that went 4,000 miles more look so much better?

Didn't really pay much attention to video. Perhaps dude got lucky with that one. The 3614 is more 1/2" shorter than the topic 10575, perhaps that another factor between the two, i.e., wide pleat spacing more a factor for tears in longer filters. Perhaps more miles in shorter time frame, more miles at operating temps as factor. Bottom line though again, topic EG failed well within the "rated" service interval.

In any case, what is known here, post use anecdotes have shown wide pleat spacing to be major factor in tears in media. Thus, the basis for my conclusion here as noted with "imo".

I don't think I'll ever get to see the condition of the replacement filter (DL10575) to share any findings, the vehicle (Ford Edge V6) was involved in an accident and according to the owner, the vehicle appears to be a loss. :(
