Hello Folks'
I have a 2011 Ford Edge with the 3.5V5 engine. I went to change the oil and discovered that there are two Fram Filters catalogued for it, A PH12060
and a PH10575. The threads match and aside from a few external differences they appear to be interchangeble. What gives?

Both technically work. The PH10575 is the correct filter. The PH12060 has a higher bypass pressure rating for GM applications.

I use(d) this filter in my 15 F150 5.0. I have used it for 7500k OCI's for about 11 or 12 changes over the last decade. I cut all my filters. The last oil change was late summer. I put the filter aside to cut at a later date. I opened it up last week, and this is what I found. I've noticed many bashing Fram and thought it must be the actual filter/engine combo causing issues. This one is on a pretty easy engine to handle. Disappointed for sure. No tears, but a 20k mile filter can't handle 7500k on a 15 5.0?

I had the same experience with my BMW X3 using Fram Endurance. No tears but wavy after 6k. That engine is pretty harsh on oil and filters. Again, though, 6k OCI for what really is a vanilla SUV. That little N20 is working hard, but this isn't an application that the Endurance should fail at 6k of use.

There have also been non-wired back Ultras with pretty straight pleats too. It comes and goes, and certainly could be due to the actual engine and use conditions. Other brand filters also show wavy pleats in some instances. If you don't want wavy pleats go with the Carquest Premium or MicroGard Select as their media doesn't seem to get wavy from use.

Good Evening Gents;
Thanks for the comments, I will change the filter to the 10575 ASAP.
