I have for your amusement a cut open FRAM PH10575 (E-CORE) that was in service on 2025 Gladiator with 3.6L Pentastar using a Baxter Performance oil filter adapter. Was used for approx. 3400 miles with Quaker State Full Synthetic 5W-30 oil.

Have used E-CORE's in the past with relative no issue but further inspection showed the join seam pleat was no longer fused to the end cap on one end which I speculate is due to the wide pleat spacing. ADBV did have some "Shark Bite" marks.

Replaced with a Precision Parts (Premium Guard) PPG2500 oil filter and Quaker State Euro 5W-40.

Thanks for the c&p....
Like the ease of filling the E-Core with oil but this is a grubber..
Yeah, I am a bit disappointed with this one. Have been somewhat of a fan in the past of E-CORE's but the slip in quality with everything else from First Brands is making me rethink that.

I had actually bought a couple of FRAM DRIVE FD10575 but looking inside them now, they have the same wide pleat spacing at the joined seam. I may just sacrifice them to the gods for a virgin cut open thread.

I just put one of these on today..matches up with a 7317
Wasn't a fan but I'm going to see how it holds up...new car install...

Somewhat like yours in design but metal end caps. I have plenty of PGs, EGs, but I want to see how these do and to get rid of them..
Lol

Thanks for the can cut. Not great but it held up at least. But I wouldn't bother with another since they cost too much for what they are.

The carquest reds are much better than these and they're only a buck or two more but I'd still get the premium. I think the 10575 crosses to the 84502

Yeah, I might reconsider them if I knew this size would come with metal end caps. I had seen a previous cut open of this particular filter and it looked decent but I guess everything is a pig in poke until you open them.

Based on description and pics, rather sad. And this has the newer base plate design Champ is using across other filters like the ACDelco. Lots of big inlets but in this one part of adbv resting directly on them, thus the indentions. As for the bypass piece seal area, not convinced the polyester caps would save it here. There is an unused ST3614 with same polyester caps posted HERE that appeared to fail a flashlight test. Add in the media seam pleat area comments, seems FB keeps topping themselves. Not in a good way. 3400 miles, not any torture test either.

Thanks for c&p.

That filter is inline with what you should get for that price …
I find the metal end cap and silicone ADBV stuff brought up here to be personal preference with no cars on the side of the road in the aftermath …
In fact, many of the black ADBV’s are AEM - which is used all over vehicle drivetrains - and other equipment … They hold the u-tube for me at OCI …
The “wide pleats” is only where the joint is made …
Again, that’s a low price point filter attached to an expensive Baxter adapter … here is the TG10575 - next step up … (5K OCI) …

One thing people need to be aware of when doing a leaf spring "light test" on a filter with fiber end caps is that the leaf spring needs to be in the same exact location as it was before the filter was cut open. The way the compressive pressure is put on the leaf spring seat by the two "ears" makes the impression in the end cap deeper in the area directly under the ears. So if the leaf spring orientation is changed from its original location, then there could be air gaps and light leakage.
