thats amazing it falls under the "Magnuson Moss Warranty Act protections" because its a part that isn't designed to meet or exceed manufacturers fitment and design. its a complete modification of the OE's design. i agree i wouldn't be seen at the dealerships garage with that installed.

Me too. From my digging on the Magnuson moss warranty act, unless the part was designed for an adapter it is considered a modification. If I modified my wiper blade arms and motors it wouldn't be covered.

Thanks for the pics! I have the same adaptor installed on my 2015 Caravan. Engine is much quieter now.

It's used to avoid dry startups since the OEM filter doesn't have an anti drain back valve and after 30 mins most of the oil drains back into the sump. With this adapter there is oil still in the filter and the adapter has a check valve preventing the filter from becoming dry.

The Jeep forum’s go round and round over the dry start discussion - many conclude that there is some oil left due to the nose seal - but clearly not what the Baxter remedies …

Anyone have an idea what a good equivalent filter to either of these would be? I don't need an extended life (taller) filter. Due to clearance issues, I need a shorter one.

BAXTER WEBSITE: WIX 57502, Mobil 1 M1-212 or equivalent

I'm thinking one of these?

I'm also planning on ignoring the computer OCI and start changing my oil every 4-5K and get back to sending it off to Blackstone. I need this engine to last!
