Have for your amusement a private label Precision Parts PPG2500 (Premium Guard) oil filter. Was in use for 3518 miles on my 2025 Jeep Gladiator 3.6L Pentastar with a Baxter Performance oil filter adapter. Oil used was Chevron Delo 400 XSP 5W-40 oil. I have cut open and posted one other instance of this part number filter prior but decided to actually cut and spread out the filter media for inspection. Did find bit of non ferrous sparkling bit in the media. Past oil analysis showed normal wear for aluminum so I am hoping this is just left over casting debris flushing out. Have sent off a sample of this drain to also check. Otherwise, normal excellent Premium Guard construction.

Replaced with a FRAM DRIVE FD10575 oil filter and Castrol Edge 0W-40 oil.

Looks very good. Thank You sir

Looks good. I take it you're not in the least concerned about using the Baxter Performance adapter even while under factory warranty? Beyond first two digits (year), still love to be able to decode the PG date code format. Like to think here it's the 218th day 2023, but having seen others, pretty sure that's wrong. Seems PG is keeping the date format, "proprietary". (j/k) As an aside, I know many here really like seeing those big holes in the tube. :)

Thanks for c&p.

Understand the risk but I am not really concerned about it. I can have it swapped out and back to the factory filter and cap in about 15 minutes if need be. I keep a second set of "correct" receipts for both filter and oil if I need to produce that.

Oil analysis came back today. Wear metals drop and I am not seeing any concern.

Fe ppm was lowest with the 1st OCI. Did you do an early oil change on this engine, or was UOA #1 the factory fill?

All OCIs are basically the same length, 3000 to 3500 miles, so the difference isn't really due to OCI length. The filter used isn't going to affect the Fe counts unless you used magnets on one and not others.

There's no Moly in the oil used in UOA #3. What oil brand and viscosity was used in UOA #1 and #2?

Your engine will benefit from added Moly. It shows that in the analysis. Valvoline Advanced Full Synthetic 5W30 would give you that added Moly. Valvoline oils usually have higher Moly content than most of the off shelf oil brands.
