Im sure its a general census on here that FRAM OCOD filters are a bad product. I swear the only reason people even by these filters are the following reasons:

1. Instantly recognizable brand. [censored] orange cans!!! People who dont know [censored] about oil and filters know FRAM
2. Good price among the competition. If you dont know what your buying price is the deciding factor.
3. Available EVERYWHERE. I swear if something like WIX was at WalMart I wouldnt be talking about this.

If anyone who changes their own oil took 5 minutes of their day to google FRAM filters one time they'd never buy those [censored] OCOD ever again. The only reason they are still in business is for the people who dont know [censored] about what they are buying. How fast would they go under if everyone who did their own changes knew more about FRAM? It just boggles my [censored] mind that this comany is successful.

Nor would they take vaccines, eat @ KFC, etc etc etc.

I look to Jenny McCarthy for all my medical advice.

Many things are grounded in concern, then whipped into a frenzy.

Frams are fine filters.

If they weren't, there would be millions of cars seizing up on the side of the road everyday.

But there aren't, are there?

Mind you, your technical dissection Frams intricate flaws IS impressive. Good job!

They do have a loyal following.

I swear thats EXACTLY why when I ask someone why they use FRAM is because of their retarded dad. Maybe back in the day they were a good filter. Who knows, I cant go back in time to find out, and if I had the resorces believe me I wouldnt waste it to cut open an [censored] oil filter. Either their dad changes their oil for them or thats what daddy used its ALWAYS FRAM!!! [censored] LOAD OF [censored] FRAM!!!! [censored]~!

I recently cut open my oem subaru filter (made by honeywell) after a 4k oci. Let me tell you, the filter was rock solid, fiber endcaps and all. I tried ripping apart the filter, and there was zero chance it was coming apart, soaked in oil and all. I haven't cut open a fram recently, but they're not as bad as people make them out to be.

If you think that's rock solid open up a P1,WIX,NG you'll [censored] your self and say why am i running this scrap!

4k is nothing...

I understand 4k is nothing, I knew someone might say that. The thing is, after seeing the filter media after 4k, I have no doubts that it could have gone much longer. I have cut open a few different filters before, and I agree they are very solid as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is that while I would never buy one of the orange cans over a purolator or something else, I wouldn't hesitate to use one if I were given some for free.

I have run Orange can Frams for several million miles in many vehicles without a problem. My vehicles were all sold, running great at over 125,000 miles. I have switched to WIX & PureOne because I think they are a better value and better constructed. To say Fram is garbage is nonsense without any data to back up a ridiculous statement in MO. Ed

I had a friend who used them (OCOD) on his blazer. He was a mouth-breather. He also thought his half-ton blazer weighed 500 #s (yes).

He did mention to me that his blazer nearly died as his oil filter gasket failed. I do not know for sure if it was a fram, but I assume it was.
