I normally use Valvoline lubrication products because I have confidence in the brand, and maybe also because sometimes I don't know enough about a topic to make an educated choice other than to trust a brand name I know.

Penzoil, Shell, Chevron, Union 76 are other brands I trust. I trust Mobil, but not always Mobil One. I've heard a lot of good things about Lucas Red Tacky grease, especially for wet climates, but I've never used it.

FRAM is not a brand I'd normally pay money for. Maybe that's justified, maybe not.

A neighbor gave me a small round can of FRAM grease as a gift. I think it's wheel bearing grease, though it might be a multipurpose grease. I don't recall. It's in a round can, which suggests to me that it's wheel bearing grease.

I appreciated it and have used it twice for mobility scooter unsealed head tube bearings (which is low pressure, low speed, low temp, but is exposed to lots of dust, rain, road spray). The gift of grease was good and timely because I urgently needed some grease at the time. So far, the FRAM grease seems to be working well in my headtube bearings.

I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I still have lots of FRAM grease left. Before I let my cousin use it again for my scooters, car, or other purposes; I'd like to know how good FRAM grease is compared to other brands.

How good is FRAM grease compared to Valvoline, Penzoil, Shell, U76, Chevron, Lucas Red Tacky, and other brands of grease? For what purposes is Lucas Red Tacky good for?

pretty hard to compare Fram grease without the specs, type, on what you have, though it may be made by Amalie as they blend for Fram brand engine oils and other oil marketing company's,, it should be reasonably comparable and useful for application.

I'm sure it's more than adequate for my mobility scooter. I was more wondering if it's good enough for my car. At this time I can't look at the container to read exactly what it is because my cousin put it up on a shelf where I can't reach it. I'm handicapped and can't reach upper shelves.

What kind of grease is it? A brand name is not much help if they subcontract 10 different kinds from a major manufacturer.

I thought the "Fram" name on oil and chemicals was AAP's house brand, at least for all intents and purposes.
The specs that it satisfies will tell the story.
I'm sure that it would be serviceable, at worst.

When I can have someone get the can down from a high shelf (that I can't reach) then I'll post the specific product name.

There are standard tests for grease. Here for example is Mobil 1 Synthetic.
